They closed because there is a big investigation going on regarding theft. All the employees that work the poker room were laid off pending the outcome.....

Hmmm... my thought is that if they were remodeling, they would move the poker room as it makes them a lot of money...OR there would be a sign saying Closed for remodeling!! Insideinfo... you could be on to something!

The Mohawk casino stopped giving money to the state last year. The state should shut them down,

I am conected with the poker room and I can tell you first hand. They had over $1,000 missing in the poker room. Table games manager Charlie Otto shut the room down untill he knows everyone who was involved to cover his own a$$. The curent manager Brian does not know what is going on in the room because he does not get involved. He was given the job because he is indian and his brother is the chief. He and his wife will be the only ones that will be allowed to keep there jobs. They have already made the dissions to fire everyone over the next 2 weeks if not sooner. One girl has been walked out after they found out she was a pill popper.

Well actualy I have worked in his capacity and can tell you there is no real reason to shut it down this long because if I know what happened in the first day it happened then Charlie knows to. He is realy scared of losing his job because hes not Indian. He has been there longer than any other Table games Director since 99. Brian is most likley a threat to him for the position. Even though this could have been prevented if Brian as the Poker room manager was more involved in his own department. What should have happened in a "off the ress job? would be fire the person who did it and fire Brian. Never shut the roon down and destroy the whole departments staff. They do not deserve to have there life screwed up like this. They have families to think about. Brian does not know the first thing about game security or anything with the games or money tracking. I can tell you if Brian cared for the poker room job as much as he does for his DJ job at the Delmare this would have never happened. I realy feel bad for the dealers because this will hurt them the most and the most of them knew nothing about it.

How do you know there is not more going on then what you think? Honestly it is really nobody's business. So it should just be dropped. If your not involved in it then you really should not care.

Do you mean that this might be an attempt to help out the other poker room on the ress? Is it posible that someone got a nice payday to shut the casino pokerroom down so that the other could get a start? I am aware that the other never had a player show up for over a month until this happened.

Well shit is closed till further notice. All management was fired and dealers kept their jobs. It is bullshit how everyone apparently knew what was going on yet only a certain number (7) were fired. Charlie Otto has known this "normal course of action" has been done since the poker room was originally at the casino in 2004 or whenever it first opened. And as for someone else, Teri Tuper, be glad you went when you did. I hope no one goes back to that poker room bc it will be run like shit. they lost their best supervisors. now who are they going to hire? Anymore questions anyone has please post and I will respond. Heres a big F U to Charlie Otto and the poker room!!!

Once again, ALL Poker Room management was fired. Dealers got to keep their jobs. Everyone knew what was going on. Besides the person getting arrested, there was no stealing going on except her. They went through all surveillance tapes to make a case on her. Then she blamed everyone else for what she was doing. So basically we all got canned for that. Since we dont work their anymore, I guess I dont have to keep anything confidential anymore. It will be written and put in the Courier Observer soon.

What did Emily actually steal? And if she was the only one, why fire everyone? On her word? Doesn't seem likely.

You act like it was all Charlies fault that you guys got fired. If I remember correctly he has a boss to answer to also... So stop blaming just him.

She stole chips out of the bank. And ya know how we correct a tray being down $5 to take it from the rake, well apparently she was telling dealers to take $50 at a time from the rake. I'm not saying its just Charlies fault. In all fairness everyone should have been fired or everyone should have kept their jobs with the new rules in place. They really never wanted the poker room their in the first place. They only put it in bc some older customers wanted it when they did the survey. I wouldn't be surprised if they did not re open.
