Roger Clough Slams
Sideliner

Lake Placid, NY

There is obviously a campaign in motion to slam Roger Clough. I have sat on the sidelines taking in information through various sources such as newpapers and this lynching site. I have seen one letter lately in the Letter to the Editor of The Courier Observer from an author I would bet my house on it was never written by that individual. What I do think is there are a small amount of disgruntled employees who are throwing tantrums over what appears to be less money in their pockets. Hello!!! the country is going bankupt in case you haven't been paying attention. Roger Clough I am sure took on a big mess when he took over the job. Do you forget about the person who lost their job over the asbestos issuesat MCS? Do you not realize there were more problems than that going on at that time? How about the astroturf and the parking and drop off lanes at the schools. A real engineer disigned that? Come on! This wasn't under Roger Clough's control you know. This was in motion a few years back. Do you really think things were running so great before he came along? Maybe some people do feel falsely secure that things were going fine because their purses with the golden linings were being filled to the brim with raises and more raises. This isn't a sports game like hockey where you yell and raise hell. You people are acting like you are at hockey game or something. Companies cut corners today by keeping only the best employees, giving no retirements or medical benefits just to keep afloat. I know for a fact Roger Clough has obviously been trying to tighten up the MCS in many areas. It is the nature of most Massena people to dislike change. Disliking change has put Massena where it is at today. Not everything is Roger Clough's fault. Some of the disgruntled employees need to grow up and be damn glad they even have a job period. Do you know how many burgarlies are going on in this town right in people's homes? Do you see how many young kids are getting in trouble? Our country is in a depression! Massena's youth are in trouble. Stop worrying about your already healthy paychecks and worry about taking care of the kids and doing what your job is suppose to be. I am not an employee of MCS. I do follow things very closely. Everything is never perfect. Why don't you people stop creating problems and blowing others out of proportion. Start being sensible and think about someone else besides yourselves and your paychecks! Albany will get fedup and close the whole MCS down and make Potsdam a regional school. None of you will have a job at all. Then who are you going to blame and what are you going to do? Let this man try to his job and clean up the big mess he was handed. Would you like to be lynched as is being done to him? I don't think any one of you would. Why don't you just put your names to what you write on here with your nasty mouth comments if you are so sincere and say you what you belief. Otherwise you appear to have hidden motives yourselves. Otherwise put a mussel in your mouth!

Maybe there was a slush fund for the previous adminstration for whatever and it was buried somewhere in the bookwork. Who knows. But at least it was found thank god! I don't think the taxpayers would want to make up $600,000. What else don't we know from the the previous years that was lying buried somewhere? This adminstration came out and were very forthcoming about this money being available! I am very happy it worked out and the programs could be restored. I believe in this adminstration. Programs were able to be restored for the kids. It should be all about the kids!

They need t ofire the individuals who are interfering with the "learning process of the children." They need to also fire individuals who are not making the grade or performing up to par on their job duties within the regular ranks of the school system. Time to clean house especially of the loud mouths!!!

Who knows is right. It's a simple question that deserves a simple answer. Where did the money come from ? Nobody wants to officially say. Forthcoming after there were numerous changing of positions. I am a reasonable guy but, something is just not right about the whole deal with this 600 thousand bucks appearing from thin air.

It was hidden so that the district could put public pressure on the union during negotiations about a lack of money.

Programs were kept and so were some jobs? The kids benefited and that is important. I am sure there is an explanation of where the money came from. Whether they have to tell the public is another question or not. The board is voted in to represent the public. Are they obligated to tell where the money came from is a question to ask them I would I think.

I never saw any explaining. Just like everything else they think people will forget in time and it will be swept under the carpet. Meanwhile people were shuffled between the school and feared for their jobs because supposedly the district was running low on cash and not much state funding on the horizon then mysteriously, 600k appears out of thin air. If you don't think board members and administration are not reading here, your sadly mistaken. Nobody wants the public to know.

I agree with you Droopy if people in the community would like to know where the $600,000 came from I don't think it should be top secret. The president of the school board should be answering those questions I would assume and if he says he can't then he should be able to say who will and when this could be available. The taxpyers would like to know because this is a very large amount of money. This sounds like the issues with the BDC in town with their funding issues. Transparency with something like this $600,000 would bring more transparency and trust to the school system I would assume. I am curious about this money myself now also. I saw things that were never answered under Doug Huntley. Things are hopefully not going down the same path. I would hope the school board members do read these forums because sometimes it is truthfully the only way a person can get their concerns aired without be jeered by a board member such has been done to me personally by Mike Lebire. He is a very rude man bottom line! If certain individuals/committees are making mistakes on the board or in charge of the finances then they need to come out and stop hiding them. It is just plain wrong and the public in general are not just a bunch of dumb morons and should not be treated as such!

It tells me that there is corruption right under our noses. We have always been too far out of reach from the feds that nobody bothered people in the north country. Have some underage porn on your computer and you go to prison for 50 years. Play with the taxpayers money in the hundreds of thousands of dollars and go untouched. It doesn't make sense.

For anyone that feels Roger is a victim of the hidden $600,000 that showed up in August and that Yager was doing the hiding. How do you explain that selected individuals that received layoff notices in June never moved out of their rooms. One would think if you were given the pink slip in June you would move out and hope that you get recalled. I have heard of numerous people that were given layoff notices did not pack a book. Sounds to me that the Super ASSURED select people that they would be back. If this is true you cannot blame Yager from hiding money from the Super.

And these individuals that never packed a book collected unemployment...... Very fishy.... If the computers were never moved from Alt ed or any other supplies... seems like they knew the program was coming back..... so collecting unemployment .... fishy!!

New York State or the feds weren't sure how much they were going to give MCS until the last minute. The whole country is going bankrupt. Don't forgot toilet seats have been paid for in the U.S. government for $500 a pop before. It is the whole system not just MCS.

i do believe that more of the admistration business - books - should be made available to the taxpapers. i remember years ago when this happend with other organizations and the citizens committee had to step in and iron it out. don't you think logically - that if you have nothing to hide - there is NO reason not to explain.

and just for the record - i for one - am darn sick and tired of hearing that something is an internal affair.

wow - sounds like we need some good old fashioned posse's out there. bear in mind i am NOT blaming any one person for some of the shenanigans that are going on.
