6 months in a soft rehab for manslaughter? How much lower can we lessen the value of a human life? No wonder so many people still drink, drive and kill - our laws are a joke, and the judges are the biggest joke of all.

So basically what the Suffolk County Supreme Court is stating is that, "you can get drunk, get behind the wheel of a car, kill someone as of the result of driving drunk, and get a slap on the wrist."

I know people who have gotten worse sentences for less.

Typical, and he dident even go to the real jail either.

I think anyone caught DUI should be publicly hanged as a message to all other drunk drivers out there.

They should just ban bars and drinking at restaurants to elimintate the problem... And thats that, this way idiot people can't drink and drive and dumb people wont get in a car with someone who has been drinking. So tonight as you all head to dinner with your spouse, girlfriend, or family, think twice before you have that beer or glass of wine, because fate may just have it that you get in an accident and boom that cold beer is going to come back and ruin your life forever.

DONT DRINK AND DRIVE AND DONT GET IN A CAR WITH A PERSON DRINKING, THAT MAKES YOU AND ACCOMPLICE TO A CRIME.

The people that hit Mr. Flynns Car should sue everyone, because these 2 kids were reckless one night, one did the driving the other agreed to be the passenger knowing damn well, these poor people are the ones suffering in my book due to these 2 kids reckless behavior.

Obviously our local government officials are not really all that serious about stamping out DWI.

Something like this must aggravate the SCPD. They go to the trouble of arresting and booking a violater and then have to watch them walk out of court laughing with a nothing sentence.

This is poetic justice. The POS had the nerve to sue someone else knowing what kind of condition he himself was in at the time. Enjoy your 6 mos., a-hole! It should be more.

Driving while intoxicated and being involved in a collision where someone is killed should be a major crime no matter who is at fault. If you are drunk and are hit by another driver, the drunk driver is at fault because they should have never been on the road.

The DA asked for a lot more time, the Judge gave 6 months.

This judge is a real piece of crap and should be removed from the bench.
How would he feel if it was someone in his family who was killed ? Jerkoff.

(Prosecutors say Daniel Flynn was driving drunk in Dec. 2001 on Sunrise Highway in Lindenhurst with his passenger, Josephine Stroker, when he went through a stop sign and was hit by another driver.)

Where is there a STOP sign on Sunrise Hwy?
In any event this sentence is way too light, and way too common.

Unbelievable! 6 months? The bum should go away for 16 years at the least. He killed someone.

I guess our laws do not apply the same way for all of us.
