Best wishes for you and the new label. Play like you don't need the money. Practice and improve. Your vocals are, well, not great. Nor is your song selection. Hope you haven't let local people blow your heads up to believe you are as awesome as 105.9 thinks you are.(Cowboy Will)Because you will be let down hard, if you haven't already been by Nashville execs, when they tell you the truth.... You are not star material, sorry.... so play like you don't need the money and have fun!!!

Seems kind of funny to me that seemingly the only person that thinks that Taylor Made is not doing well is the one person who is following them the closest! This was just posted yesterday and you are right on top of it! I have been to their shows and they do an awsome job entertaining ( trust me they have a great time doing what they do), the only gripe I have is that they don't play long enough! They are doing great things and it sounds to me like someone may be a little jealous. They are doing great things for themselves and our GREAT STATE! THE END!

Frank, dude, you obviously don't know how Nashville works. If you think being a Nashville star requires you to be "star material," think again. You need the right "broker" with a significant amount of pull and a thick checkbook.

Trust me, I know enough about "the business". Didn't mean anything bad about Taylor Made, just ride it out and have fun. You'll know in your first year or so if you want it bad enough, and if you are selling records you won't make any money until 2nd/3rd release, depending on contract structure. Everyone wants local talent to go far, and constructive (or not) criticizm is part of the business. My personal opinion is that they don't have the talent, at this point, to become a sensation on the country music scene, doesn't matter where they are from. Vocals need alot of work...I think most folks would agree (to themselves)

I loved them when they were I79. Seems when they changed their name, they changed their attitude. Got too cocky What really upset me was, they did a concert for the cop that was killed, but they wouldn't do one to help raise money for the 1st concert for the Ghent victims. Said they had a recording date. But the lead singer was at the concert. So, how did they record when they didn't have a lead singer? Now, when they had the second concert, the bands got paid, and Taylor Made was there. Guess money means a lot, unless you're a cop.

I don't know what studio that you record in, but in the real world the vocalists are not always in attendance when the musicians are cutting their tracks. Could it be that the background vocals were being cut and the lead singer happened to drop in on that show? You seem to know in much detail the situation. If I read one of the newspaper articles right I believe that they were doing a benefit concert for Hurricane Katrina victims the night that they were discovered. Hmmm, it seems to me that they have played several benefits in the Beckley area. The way I see it there must be some jealousy or personal grudge against them since you are " Not a fan " and from Birmingham, Alabama. Perhaps you're an angry victim that did not benefit from thier absence. I have been to a concert, they were fantastic. Also, they were very polite afterwards in signing autographs and having pictures done with my kids. I wish them all the luck!

I don't wish failure on Taylor Made but I just can't listen to them...have to change the station. The songwriting is elementary at best and the vocals are limited... and just aren't very good...in MY opinion. Nevertheless, I can recall several songs that were rudimentary and ended up being big hits...anyone remember "Just a swingin'"? Can't remember the singer though (I guess that further illustrates my point). The latest picture of the group, that I've been seeing in the gas stations recently, is pretty funny...trying MUCH too hard. Again, just MY opinion. It they make it big, it will be a head scratcher...I'll just continue to change the station.

And to hear about them not helping the Ghent victims does NOT suprise me.

That's pretty good. All y'all locals that don't like Taylor Made, but hopeful that they make it. Is that so you can put that hand out there and expect an even bigger handout? That's really supportive!

What hand out? They don't give money away. The only person that got a handout was the sister of the cop that got killed. He didn't support his sister, but evidently Taylor Made and the people that went to that concert do. They were raising money for his sister, and his child. I'll tell you, I didn't go to that concert, because I didn't support the cause. A lot of children grow up on Social Security because their Daddy's die. Why should that cops child be any different? If he had been home with his wife and child, he wouldn't be dead. OOPS, I forgot, him and his wife were separated, they weren't living together. He was out with his girlfriend, Off Duty, doing a drug deal. If it hadn't been a cop that was killed, there wouldn't have been any fuss over it. Just another dead drug dealer. But, he was a cop, so, we are supposed to think he is a hero. Well, some of us don't.

I'm sorry Not a fan, but it just sounds to me like you have more of a personal problem with that event itself. I'm sure something just did not go your way or you did not profit from it so you are upset. BFD! Get over it! If not, BFD once again! You're just one negative person that doesn't like Taylor Made. There is always someone that's going to shoot off their mouth when something or someone is starting to gain attention. So let that be you! Personally, I hope that they go to the top and enjoy the ride. And to you Vote for Clinton... You're just expressing your right, whether it's here or somewhere else.

I do have a problem with it. Though not personal, just morally! 4 people died in the Ghent explosion. 1 cop died. They can do a benefit for 1, but not 4. Don't take a genius to figure that one out! I hope Taylor Made does great. I hope they go all the way to the top. But, I'm not putting them on a pedestal. They are human, they mess up. And in my opinion, they messed up BIG TIME. And as far as looking for a handout, I have news for you, Buddy, I work for a living. I don't take handouts. And if you read this whole thing, I'm not the only one who feels that they are not as hot as they think they are.

I did read the whole thread. Let's back up. I'm not defending Taylor Made, but are you for certain that every member of that band was available to do the concert that you are referring to? From what I have read it looks like that they were not all available to do that particular show. If they were in the studio recording, and that could have been any one band member or one vocalist, that would not be possible for them to be there. I'm sure that when you book studio time it is not cheap and you record until you're finished. I also see where they did perform at a second benefit for the Ghent victims as well as other benefits in the area. I also hear where they are performing at another benefit this weekend. It looks like that they do their fair share of benefit concerts. And no, I wont single you out as the only one who does not like them, I'm sure there are those. I just wanted the facts before I based my opinion to see if they really shafted your benefit.

The people who did the first benefit didn't get paid (they did it from the goodness of their heart). They are a group. They all record together. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED them before this. I still like to hear them. I just have a problem with the way all this happened.

So you think that it all has to do with money? I believe that if they could have performed there they would have. It just sounds like a scheduling conflict to me. But enough of that. I hope that things in Ghent are coming together for all. It was a terrible tragedy.
