If you live in the Muddy Creek Road area of Green Township, Hamilton County, be very careful. This morning a local man surprised a coyote behind the garage and was attacked by it. Luckily the man happened to have a hammer in his hand and was able to fend off the animal.

We got'em in Grovetucky. They are not afraid of anything and have no natural predators. State should have a hunting saeson for them
Do your homework ! There is a hunting season for them . ALL YEAR you can get money for their pelts . You need to check with your local DNR people to see what the constraints are .

<quoted text>I have read all the comments. I live in Bracken County Ky on A 1100 acre farm. Coyotes will travel in "packs" because I have seen it with my own eyes while checking on my cattle. I have a large German Sheperd and he saw a coyote so he went to investigate. When he reached the lone Coyote there were Seven coyotes that were hiding that jumped him. He did manage to get away. Coyotes will kill cats or any dog in the spring especially to feed their young pups. Coyotes are wild animals who do not fear man nor do they have ANY natural predators. But they are to be feared and not trusted. They WILL kill your dogs or cats if they have the chance. Don't feed your animals outside at nite. Feed them in the morning. Keep a light on your dog if he is tied outside after dark. And NEVER approach a coyote, after all it is a wild animal.
You seem to have the best advice. We hunt them regulary. Thera good money in the pelts. I had a hard time gutting them at first , but when I seen them in form I realized how effective they can be at the hunt. They will hunt in numbers with great efficiency . A very formidable foe .

2 nights in one week I heard coyotes from my backyard. I live in Delhi and have never heard this before. One night I could only hear one howling very loudly, but the other sounded like 20 plus pack attacking a dog. It was very violent sounding and scared the life out of me. Sounded like it was coming from an area right around Delhi Swim club. Neighbors beware. I stopped letting my cats out at night because I now fear for their safety. I would advise others to do the same if you are in Delhi.
I saw one run across delhi pike tonight! It was decent size!

A couple months ago my husband and I were traveling on St.Rt.125 (Ohio Pike) and spotted a coyote in the big open field next to Joe Kidd Dodge... I was surprised considering I had never seen one before...We live in Withamsville and we have now been hearing them howl in the evenings...

We live on Bridgetown Rd very near Kuliga Park Drive. Saw a coyote five feet from the woods behind my backyard fence staring at my barking dog five feet inside the fence. Lots of wooded acreage here, and my wife heard several as well a few weeks ago from the deck. Having this one just look at me and saunter away was eery. Spot lights on when I go out with the dogs and Mr. Smith.

Last night my 2000# Belgian and 400# pony were attacked by a pack of coyotes. They have multiple gaping wounds, bites and scratches. The vet stitched the bad ones and cleaned them all. So much for coyotes not traveling in packs or attacking only when they can win.
I live in Clermont County, Ohio, close to Milford, inside I 275.

I grew up in Colerain twp close to Ross. My German Shepherd killed a coyote back in the day and brought it back to my house to chew on! Could always hear them howling at night behind the house. Yet I never saw any with my own eyes besides the dead one.
