Got nothing to do with doctor/patient - it has everything to do with life and a respect for it. Take a moment and listen to your own heartbeat - you'll hear the same thing that they are talking about...

As a Christian Republican I disagree with this bill. If a fetus can't survive outside the womb with nothing more than a blanket and a mothers tit then it is not a life. All this talk about a heartbeat, a rat has a heartbeat but not a soul. I don't believe God puts a soul in something that could miscarry (self abort).

And even if He does these souls would get a free pass to heaven so what is the reason to feel sorry about them? They get to avoid the judgements and miseries of this world.

So what do you make of Jeremiah 1:5 where God says I knew you before you were in the womb? Since there was no body or mind at that time, then it pretty much has to be the soul He is speaking of...and if you believe as you say, if God creates life, what is your basis for judging when it begins? Perhaps if a child would have survived rather than being aborted, he/she may have been able to relieve some of the miseries of the world - no one knew what plans God had for his/her life.

Had Roe v Wade been ruled on today, I doubt very seriously if the decision would have been the same. Aside from the fact it is bad law, check out some of the local neo natal units which birth babies who survive as little as 1-2 pounds. Why is it heroic means is used to save and preserve the life of one child who is wanted by the parents whereas another can end the life of a similar child in the same stage of development based on emotional or economic issues or simply because he/she might be an inconvenience?
