Geeze, I must have missed this one in the newspaper. Tried to pull the story up, but it was gone. There are some good policemen in belleville but their are alot of policemen here that should not be policemen at all.
I had a police officer come to my home several years back who not only used excessive force, but dragged me out of my home for NOTHING. I had never been in trouble with the law before.
He then made false stories about me and I fought the case for a few years and the city finally dropped it.
I should have sued the officer and or the city but I did not, I certainly know better now. Just 2 years ago, I saw where this same officer was in trouble for a few things, I felt like I got my justice yet again while reading about his stupidity in the paper.

There are good cops and there are bad cops. I have had a words with some of them. Never have I been arrested. I am a law abiding citizen. But there were a few cops who was questioning my son about something and called him a fag and allot more when I voiced my opinion on this they threatened to arrest me. Just because they are police gives them no right to taunt, call people names, beat them and slam them into police cars. After what I have witnessed I put nothing past the police. And by the way my son was found not guilty in a court of law for what he was accused of doing.

There are good and bad cops. Most let the power go to their head. Imagaine all the power the have for such little education. And why do they carry their badges on them all the time. Because they think it will get them out of trouble if they flash it. This is why they think they are above the law. They should have to have a 4 yr degree and take continuing education classes as many professions do.

I know of a Belleville resident that was handcuffed and had his face smashed against a Police Car. He didn`t resist. He fully cooperated. Has this become the way the Belleville Police Department operates? Beating people like barbarian Nazis? There were 6 Police Officers and only one of him. Even if he did resist,(and he didn`t) they could`ve restrained him or even tased him. Instead of handcuffing him and then smashing his face against a Police car. This is the 8th complaint in 2008 of Police brutality in Belleville. These hot headed Cops that go around with their power trips, who were probably picked on in High School, makes me sick. It needs to stop! Who will be brutalized next? Could be you. Lets put an end to Police Brutality!

Maybe if the police start getting tougher, the criminals will think twice about committing a crime. Follow the law and you don't have to worry about this happening to you.

I was beaten in the Belleville jail. My crime? Respectfully telling Mike T. Boyne that I did not have to reveal my name until I spoke with an attorney. I told the judge about it at my hearing and he refused to do anything about it and called me a liar. Corruption rules in Belleville, Illinois.

"Realist" from Belleville wants people to stop committing crimes but thinks it's ok for police to commit crimes to achieve this. Hypocrite.

You do have to tell the police your name. They do this to make sure they know who their dealing with when it comes to any prior offenses. In this day and age how do you know who has a weapon on them or not. After they read you your miranda rights you dont have to talk to them. If they dont read your rights then you have a lawsuit. Why wouldn't you just give them your name?? Sounds like you were just being a smartass to me. If you haven't done anything wrong you shouldn't worry if they know your name.

No, you do NOT have to say ANYTHING at all to police. You have the RIGHT to be completely silent and speak with an attorney first. So what you are saying is if a person is a "smart ass" as you put it, it's the cops right to beat someone senseless. That IS what you are saying in effect, isn't it? No wonder our country is going down the tubes, with people like you who think they know the law but don't really and are quick to give up their rights because they have "done nothing wrong." Nice obedient slave you are, wright15. lol
