Prisoners should be fed alot better. Get them out of there cells and put them to work. They should grow large gardens and help with the cost of supporting themselves. Bring back the chain gangs. Our roads are in need of trash clean-up. Above all no one should be denied food. As much as taxpayers pay to maintain a prisoner at least fed them better than that. Not everyone likes peanut butter.

I was also there and the officers responded very quickly as well as the nurses. EMS was there in a matter of minutes. Next time you come and visit the jail why don't you pick up a spelling book? You might sound like you know what your talking about if you could spell. Bad things happen to Stupid people.

i think that all the comments about blount county its true, just call them and ask what do they serve for linch every day. they serve peanutbutter sandwiches every single day. they cannot say that they serve a well balance meal. i dont know if by being locked down they are allready paying their mistakes alot people havent plead guilty. and the warrent of this jail is punishing them by not feeding them well. my question is where are the us marshals in charge of the federal prisioners. are they really treating them acording to the law.this people are human beeings, every body is exposed to make mistakes and the only person that should judge them is a JUDGE NOT A WARRENT OF A PRISION. he is commiting a crime by treating more than 700 inmatesthe way this inmates are being treated by eating peanutbutter sandwiches 6 days of the week.who is more criminal?the person that is in charge of 700 inmtes or more, or each individual inmates.
pb sandwich is more then some kids get the chance to eat. I hope some one has already given you a STFU. Those people in jail should get water and broth... if that. Thats why they are in jail, its not a hotel. Homeless men around knoxville get themselves put in jail every once in a while just so they can eat and sleep in a bed, WTF? jail should not be a place anyone wants to go.

How very sad we are as a "Christian" country. Jesus said, "whatsoever you do to the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me." He was speaking of prisoners, the sick, the poor, the hungry, the lonely. I have two sons who are incarcerated in Tennessee jails, and they are innocent. It happens--and I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't lived it. We go about our daily lives trusting the judicial system, and then when you're in it, you discover that there is no justice--at least not in the Tennessee version of it!The two jails that house my sons are houses of horror--it is as if we are living in Nazi Germany--people all ignore the abuses of power because it's not their problem--but let me advise you that you's better care. It can happen to you and yours, and you'll be rolled over by a steam roller government that is intent on getting convictions, not "innocent until proven guilty."

Jails house hugely diverse populations; besides the federal safe house prisoners, there are people serving time for minor local offenses and people awaiting trial for a wide range of offenses. Not all of the latter will be convicted; don't confuse a jail with a prison where convicted felons are kept. Some of the people there are very ordinary citizens who have made collossally stupid mistakes and are otherwise no worse than the rest of us.

So thinking of bad food and regualr beatings ass punishment or natural consequences for bad behavior is very sloppy thinking. The odds are that some of the people writing here will spend time in jail at some point in their lives. Let's not be so self-righteous.

I got outta this jail Saturday, was there for the fight. Guy thought hed been called a racial slur and would not listen to reason, He acted like a dumb ass and he is in the whole now... what they aint reporting was also last week an inmate attempted suicide.

Uh...I don't think the county is worried about the correct dietary needs of a violent prisoner. So, they are not getting pancakes and sausage for breakfast and roast beef for dinner- that is THEIR problem then. They shouldn't have done the crime.
people are in there for having a ounce of pot, they dont deserve that shit

Yeah, tell me about it, the staff with the sheriff are bigger crooks than the felons. Man the stuff I would love to spill about the administration, but they would have me in jail by next week. But luckily TBI is keepin a eye peeled, all the time, just laying in wait.
