I, too, plan to relocate to East Tennessee. Although, after reading the Pigeon Forge Forum, I am a little leery. I have an adopted Grandaughter from Seoul, Korea. My main concern is her best interests. As much as I love the mountains, I really need to know if there are many Asians in the school systems, or in the population. She has been totally accepted here in Ohio. Would that be the case there as well? I am only being a concerned Granny. Could someone please enlighten me on this subject?

You always here about bad things that happen on here but hardly ever the good things. Here in Maryville we have Denso Manufacturing which is a Japanese company, there are many convenience stores run by Asian Indians, also Mexicans. All with hardly any problems to even speak of. Both my boys have a Japanese kid in their cub scouts.

I think the reason you might get discouraged reading about some things in the Pigeon Forge forum is because it is a tourist town with a lot of out of town visitors.

My wife Heather and I just moved to Maryville TN a week ago and we used Nik and Christy to find our house. They are very helpful and they will work with whatever your situation is. We only had 3 weeks to find a house and be here. They worked hard for us and kept in contact with us until we got in our new house.
I would recommend Nik Shewmaker and Christy Blanco to anyone who is considering a move to this area.

Election Fraud happens in Sevier County and the Courts condone it. If you expect that the Ordinary Citizen has a fair chance in this County, Get over it.

We have real problems here. Some say the White Caps have stayed orginized through and now have taken over our Local Governments.

Our officials do not practice what we are teaching our children in School. Is that the type of place you want to move?

I am a life long native. I will stay and fight to return the control of the govenment to the hands of the people. If you would like to join in and help, please come.

I wouldn't move to Maryville if you have teenagers. The high school is so very hard that the average kid can't make a good grade. We moved here three years ago and my kid made A's and B's in Atlanta. Now c's and D's. Their grading scale is different. They confiscate cell phones to look for kid porno. The cell phones are taken for weeks or months. Are they downloading the photos to their own computers??? Nothing is ever done about the photos but the girls or guys are called into the office.
The smog is bad in the summer with heavy traffic going toward the mountains. The view is good some of the time but who would want to put up with rude people that really don't want you moving here anyway. I will retire soon but not here. Currently looking for a place for my child to finish high school that doesn't have high teen pregnancy rate or STDs!!!!

i lived in knoxville all my life and about 5 years ago i moved to Maryville. I absolutly LOVE this place! and i do have 3 teenagers and for once in their lives they loved school. There is alot of bad stuff goes on in high schools but its all about how we raise our children 2 of mine are grown now and they are wonderful people. i have had 0 problems out of the school systems i think they are great .especially compared to other schools around the country. I can tell you the way i feel right now I will live in maryville till the day i die !after living in knoxville for more than 30 years i ask my self what was i thinking? It is wonderful here. i have never been happier. and it is worth it to have to drive to Knoxville most days of the week to see my family or whatever i need to take care of its like a dream come true to find a place that i feel at home! Blount county is the place to be yall

The WORST place I've ever lived. The locals hate & bully outsiders. Crazy corrupt town.
