An Illinois State Police agent who worked on busting up a 26-year-old Collinsville drug conspiracy ring is happy that the case has ended and all the players are paying for what they did.

Former Illinois State Police agent Kevin Stallard was in the courtroom Friday afternoon when U.S. District Judge William D. Stiehl sentenced Frank Fabbri, a St. Louis attorney who represented drug kingpin Ed Trober, to 18 months in federal prison.

'The sentencing was fair,' Stallard said.

The drug ring operated by Trober, of Collinsville, and at least seven others, involved trucks hauling in large shipments of marijuana from Arizona and distributing it across the metro-east. Read more

Its funny they call the men hero's that brought Edward Trober in. They have no idea how many people's lives have been effected from the so called "hero" Edward Trober was a great man / father/ grandpa/ son/ brother/ and friend. Anything he ever done was for the good never the bad.. He is my and many others Hero .. There has been way too much time wasted with him away , he does not deserve to be where he is . He deserves to be home with his family. He is 58 yrs old wonderful father and grandpa.. So I'd like to thank the "hero" so much for taking away a little girl and boys papa and a very sad daughter's daddy.. If there were more people like. Edward trober the world would be a better place.. May god be with the men who took my dad away from me...

I am sure all the daughters of the 1700 inmates I deal with everyday say the same thing you do. As a mother, I hope they lock all of the drug dealers and enablers up.

For you idiot's that think drug dealing or legalizing marijuana should be a crime are f_ _ _ _ing lost in lala land. If our gov't wasn't so crooked and just legalize it, the U.S. def. wouldn't be in a TRILLION dollar debt. The Unites States BIGGEST and most costly war ever is The War on Drugs(18,000,000,000 billion a year FACT).Where if they legalized it, they would make double that in the taxes they could put on it. So to the prison guard that commented earlier you probably get bent over by your favorite inmate so quiet yourself (it sounds like your probably stupid and uneducated). So next time educate yourself before you start runnin your DSL's (d ___ sucking lips

Lil BiRdie: Legalize marijuana? Why don't we legalize drinking and driving while we're at it! BTW if you're going to attack ppl regarding their education you might want to check your grammar before posting! Your use of such derogatory language makes you appear to be uneducated as well.

Tiffany: Love is blind. The story you know is one sided as well, keep that in mind.

My dad is still in prison from all of Ed Trobers lies. He is a piece of crap in my book. He flaunted all his money living the high life and now we know why. Oh wait my dad was found with nothing and did not have hardly anything to his name but got 12 years and ed wAs the drug ring leader and got 18 months because he was a rat and liar. So that's how I feel about it all he will get his one day when he faces god.

To bad your dad was a dope dealer for a few decades, if he wasn't guilty he wouldn't have plead guilty and cooperated with the government, yeah blame the government for the actions of a dope dealer, it is a shame you call him a hero, while he himself in front of the judge referred to himself as a dope dealer.
