I'll second that, would like to have some other restaurants here, some niche restaurants, like ethnic foods, for instance.... we do have Applebee's, but would like more variety a bit Closer to home....would like to see White Castle come back to town.

Yes, on the 'main drag'. Had to add that. Yes, as you travel East, cross the RR tracks, pass Mitchell School, and there are a group of businesses on the RH side of the road. Itty Bitty is in the second building. They also have a one-of-a-kind map of Route 66 put up on one wall, by the front counter.

Dont forget the jelly jar drinking glass collection!! They are starting to collect license plates now. Although I do find the barbie head in the corner kind of creepy.

Yes, there WAS a White Castle in Granite City at one time, it was located at (hope I have the right intersection) Grand and 20th street, on the corner, last seen in the late 1950's. According to my Mother (RIP) the White Castle was doing a decent business. This was before McDonald's came into town (on Johnson Rd.), and the Red Barn. Those were the two burger joints I remember the most. Yeah, I'd like to see White Castle return, ought to save mileage to either St. Louis or to Collinsville. Oh, yes, I haven't forgotten the Snack Shack, Tony & Joes (the home of the pizza burger), and the place that is now known as Lisa's (Scott McCoy runs it now), acroos the street from the steel mill.
