Not only are the barriers proving to be inaffective in preventing cars from breaking thru into oncoming traffic. But in the year 2000, my sister Shelly Gillihan and her boyfriend Doran McKinney were both killed in a car accident on the same stretch of road. In my sisters case she was thrown from a vehicle as it flipped and was thrown into those cable barriers. I am unsure if she would've survived the accident otherwise, but being cut into pieces as her body hit those cables, in my eyes was a big factor in her death. I am extremely interested in seeing what is done in regards to this situation, and just wanted to let it be known that the Marysville corridor also played a part in my sisters death.

Denise,

Ask yourself this question: Why did it happen?

What happened on that stretch of highway, that didn't happen anywhere else?

Get back to me, when you can identify that reason.

Doug,

Well, actually, I don't really care.
But I do appreciate your advice.

In my whole life, I've 'suffered' such incidents, and early on I worried about those.

But then? My Mother reminded me of this: It matters not a whit what others remark, for in the main, their comments have little if any affect in your own life. And, your =true= friends will always stand with you, regardless the disparaging and belittling utterances made by people with small minds.

So, regarding the essence of your message?
Why am I not surprised?
Talking about someone behind their back is the prima facie, sine qua non (on its face, the essential element) of the worst of personalities.
If one has nothing better to do than to disparage another for no other reason than dislike, then others should take note!

Anyway, you may report back to those who care, that I have permanently departed the Everett Forum III, and what anyone may desire to remark of 'behind my back,' I don't care about in the least.

In the nature of all things true, I abide with fidelity.
In the nature of all things false, I deride infinitely.

Thanks again, Doug.

What happened on that stretch of highway was inferior cables spliced my sister in half whereas it would not have happened had they not been there...thats what happened on that stretch of highway.... granted she may have still been thrown from the car, but her chances of living might have been much better in one piece. so you get back to me when you can verify that conclusion...k?

What???? What kind of question is that? How can you compare other stretches of roads, not too many of which have those damned barriers, to the stretch of road which does. Bottom line, my sister wasn't cut in half on just any stretch of road... Are you missing that point?? Get back to me when you can justify being an ignorant ass!!!!!

Oh I see Aria is here.....Hey Aria..you the one standing at 42'nd and Rucker holding up the anti-everything signs....The anti-Jew sign was quite telling.

Dear Denise,

My kilted friend, being on extended vacation in the British Isles, especially in Northern Scotland and the Isles, wishes to remark thusly:

"The question I posed, dear lady, was to get back when you could figure out why it is that the section of highway in question, was causing so many accidents.

"Merely having a 'cable barrier' is not going to be the cause of an accident. So, if any =other= section of highway having no such barrier is having accidents with as great a frequency, then you will =pray tell= provide sufficient evidence as to =why= one type of barrier causes accidents with such frequency as the cable barrier, yet not with another type."

I do believe he means to remark that the section of highway between Everett and Marysville has not nearly as many such accidents of the type spoken of, as that which happen between Marysville and Smokey Point?

Over to you, my dear!

Are you listening??? Who ever said that I believed the barriers were the cause of the accident, A drunk driver hit the rearend of their damn truck, which sent the car into a flip, which flung my sisters body into the cable barriers, which sliced her to pieces. Ok got that point now.
I never said that the barrier was the cause of the accident, I merely said that if it had not been for the barriers my sister could very well be alive today. And others as well. I do not feel they serve much of a purpose, and are not efficient at the purpose they were intended, so why have them?? I want them GONE!!!! I am not going to debate this any further with you, a friend of yours or anyone else.. All I want is to be updated if and when the city of Marysville decides to remove the barriers. End of discussion.

So, once again: Why do you believe that cable barriers cause accidents, where other barriers don't?

Would you be willing to bet your own life on that?

Is it your suggestion that there be no barriers at all?
