Ohio House of Representatives passed Am. Sub. H.B. 1 to create Kasich’s JobsOhio(RobsOhio)
—the privatization of the Ohio Department of Development.
House Republican after Republican claimed it was false to suggest that RobsOhio would potentially allow $1 billion in State taxpayer economic development assistance to pass through secretly.
As a taxpayer I resent the fact that they act like I have no right to know how my tax money is spent.
RobsOhio isn't about jobs. It's about power.
Accountability and transparency are what separates Ohio and America from the Chinese and Iranians and the 18th century English.
John Kasich does not want to be governor. He wants to be king.

Ohio State Auditor Yost, says on his agency's Website that
"government ... is an instrument meant to enable each one of us to fulfill our duty to God, family and country. So long as I hold office, I will help make sure that state and local government works for the citizens of Ohio, not the other way around."
JobsOhio has a lease with the state to run its liquor operations
Reports indicate that JobsOhio spent $3 million on salaries for its 22 employees, who also spent $150,000 on travel. Other reports on the group's actions indicate it spent $367,000 for office remodeling and $362,000 for office furniture last year.
When you are looking for a job, it is nice to have friends like Kasich who can provide a $225k job in a position you zero experience in.
"Now Kasich wants to shroud JobsOhio in even more secrecy and take away the public’s right to see how billions in taxpayer dollars from the sale of liquor proceeds are spent,” he said.“The governor’s push to cover up JobsOhio’s finances will only result in the public getting ripped off in the future.“
If the supreme court doesn't stop this corrupt idea of uning tax revenues to create a private organization incapable of being audited, then the people need to take a stand and storm the state house and demand accountability.
Meanwhile, Kasich best man and multi-millionaire Kwamme, who resigned as head of JobsOhio, is married to Republican stalwart scion Megan Browning Kwamme (daughter of Greg Browning, Gov. Voinovich's finance czar), who now heads her own Ohio bond-underwriting firm. Hmmmmm. Both JobsOhio and the Turnpike deal involve issuing lots of bonds financed by what used to be public money.
James Leftwich who was a JobsOhio director and Kasich economic development advisor (at a Gov salary over $100K), was terminated when a Dayton newspaper discovered he violated ethics laws by failing to advise supervisors that he was also doing work for his private consulting firm.
While being paid over $100k a year by the State and working for Kasich, in a six month period, he was paid $90k a private consultant for Wright State in order to use his position, contacts and influence within Kasich's econ development groups to secure more $$$ for Wright State.
Take a look at the following article. They even got the email trail. I can't believe this guy is not indicted

4 Lawmakers Want Ethics Review Of Ohio Jobs Chief
found six of nine board members at JobsOhio have ties to companies that received tax credits or other state or JobsOhio assistance since Kasich took office in 2011.
The Dayton Daily News identified JobsOhio directors who were either employed by, on the board of or stockholders in the benefiting companies.
A JobsOhio spokeswoman has said the analysis encompassed incentive packages granted before JobsOhio existed or had a board, and the office requires directors to abide by a strong conflict of interest policy.

Marc Kvamme Lies About JobsOhio
Under Governor Strickland, the Ohio Department of Development’s Global Markets Division operated 11 international trade offices around the world. These were fully-staffed, full-time offices that aggressively marketed Ohio as location for foreign investment.
Kasich’s Development Services Agency now operates 8 international trade offices.
it’s no wonder that JobsOhio continues to be plagued by problems around its constitutionality. I guess we shouldn’t be surprised that JobsOhio continues to struggle to shroud itself in a secrecy. And I guess no one is shocked that, just as we predicted, JobsOhio’s lack of transparency and accountability has led to scandalous stories about undocumented spending and conflicts of interest.
Worst of all, since JobsOhio took over economic development activities for the state, Ohio has fallen farther and farther behind the rest of the nation in job creation.
Kvamme's was instrumental in getting Spanish solar company Isofoton to start up solar panel production in Ohio, claiming it would create 330 jobs and be the biggest solar field east of the Mississippi, Turning Point Solar Project.
So far Isofton has 33 employees and doesn't know if it can even keep them employed if Kasich's hand picked PUCO has all but killed the project because they claim AEP, the other big partner in the project, will pass the cost onto the consumer. They also don't know how they will pay back the millions in Ohio backed loans they received to move here. Yet the PUCO had no problem approving AEP's requested rate hikes, which they promised in 2010 they wouldn't ask for because they had 'accidentally' overcharged customers in 2009 and 2010 by over $43 million. 6 months after Kasich took office, they got the firs of 3 rate hikes approved.
