Telecommunications Harassment

Step 1 : If called by anyone that you don't wish to hear from ever again, simply tell them to never call again or you will file "telecommunications harassment" charges against them.

Step 2 : Immediately hang up on them, and dial *(star)57 to record the call. There may be a charge for this. Embarq (not sure about other phone companies) keeps the record on file for one year, which law enforcement and the legal system can access.

Step 3: IF called again by the individual you warned, hang up, dial *57 again, then call police, using the 7 digit number (NOT 911, since this isn't an emergency, UNLESS they have threatened you with physical and you feel you may be endangered.) Explain everything that has happened to them.

Step 4 : An officer will be sent to get a report from you.

Step 5 : An officer will either call or visit the "harasser" and issue a warning.

(I've had to go through this procedure twice in my life, most recently on Monday, March 2, 2009, with regard to Kevin Behrens. Haven't heard a thing from Behrens since.)

Usually this will end the situation and no court visit is required. If and when the behaviour starts up again, then it goes to court if you wish to file further charges.(I've never had to take that step.)

Let your tax dollars do the work. Call the cops if this happens to you.

The next time Kevin Behrens calls and harasses me I just might have to resort to this.

I believe there are several people that would love to do this. I just wish the merchants that currently advertise in the MJT would see that paper and its' Owners for what they are doing.
I hope they do some investigating on their own and put there advertising statistics to work. It seems to me that merchants would compare advertising dollars to actual customers and do some comparrisons of their own. Ask thir customers, "how did you hear about us". Are the merchants running coupon sales from the JT and other papers? It seems to me, that merchants need to be made aware of advertising alternatives.
Most merchants locations and products are already known by the citizens of Marysville and Union County. In this economic time, why spend your money to reach 5ooo people or whatever the MJT circulation is. I think blazin may have several valid points in his/her posts. There IS ALWAYS an alternative.

Interesting that a High School Wrestling Coach would engage in criminal activity.....certainly a topic that the Marysville School Board should address.

Maybe so. You can bet the JT WON't cover it.

I wonder if the MJT people threatened topix with a lawsuit. I guess when YOUR community knows you are a douchebag and really abhores what you stand for, you have to cry to someone else. You can bet that THOSE PEOPLE wouldnt give two hoots if they were printing bs about the citizens,(as is their practice). JUST ANOTHER GREAT EXAMPLE of spoiled kids having to have it THEIR way and the public giving in. GET A SET OF BALLS PEOPLE. That family don't mean sh*t anymore. They are on their way out and they're gonna take as many casualties and create as much collateral damage as possible. The bad thing is this. When Behrens sells the JT, he's still going to make a fortune. I hope whoever buys it, does so when there is no more need for print media and that filthy rag isnt worth a dime or even 2cents.

I don't know what other people say, But... Kevin Behrens has sent me a threatening email not long ago. And I quote "be very careful of who you call out. be very very careful." He (I assume) continues to attack me here, and can't get over the fact that he has another competitor.
He has also tried more than once to get my wife fired from her job. He has called and met with her boss to try and have her removed. To no avail I might add. So all I can say is good luck with him continuing to not do you wrong Curbside. I hope you protect your personal information well and did not use an identifying email address.

Actually if one would take their info to the school board regarding KB's unethical (at the least) behavior he would more than likely face discipline. There is a moral clause I'm sure in his contract, not only is he to do no wrong but he is also to avoid the appearance of doing wrong. This may be the best way to get his attention.
