Cost of Libray

The 2012 Library annual report states the total operating expense of the library as $1,599,225, with salary being the biggest expense at $789,837. There are only 27,496 cardholders in 2012 according to the report. Is it really worth $1,599,225 to operate and fund the library instead of using Google? Should salaries be 50% of the operating budget? Somebody must be overpaid!

The bulk of the money spent on salary most go to mgmt, most staff make less the $12 per/hr and are part time status. The salary expenses should decrease in 2013 due to retirements and the Asst. Director position going unfilled after the Asst Director resigned.

I would like to see the MJT do an article on the salary of the Library employees like they did with the County employees awhile back, I think the taxpayers would be surprised at how overpaid some of the Mgmt is when compared to their qualification and skills. One example would be the HR/IT Manager not having and formal or profeesional trainig in eith field to my knowledge.

but after they ran the county public record tender chadwick ran hiz 2 cents about how awfull awl the phone cawls were frum the welfare dept employees (who were later put in prison for embezzlemt/fraud/extortion, or quit in anomity).

so i don't think he will decide to do that again...?...let alone the cities actual goin' on's......people may be shocked over the amounts,,but the incest $$$ is the part dat gitz me....?...like why are the libraies books kept by the former mayors (current skewl levy cheerleader) husband...?....$$

100% of the payroll is who you know and who you sleep with....i know some who swap spouses even...$$$..gettho etics

According to their annual report on their website, their revenue is $1,540,960 but their expenses are $11,599,225, their expenses are almost $60,000 more then their revenue! Maybe it is time to reduce that huge salary budget and get rid od some dead weight, if you have people in position who are not qualified, fire them!

So why is this HR/IT manager have that position? This needs to be explained to the taxpaper if that is true.
