Another money grab. These courses do nothing when it comes to kids making bad decisions on the roads. Everything these days is about making money or trying to make a parent of a dead kid feel better. California is a freaking mess.

It could go both ways…

I acknowledge that most legislation is written by special interest groups…

I also see really stupid acts by motorcycle riders of all ages…

Following cars and trucks too closely is the worst…

The old adage is true…most all motorcycles can speed up faster than the most expensive car…but they slow down slower than the cheapest car…

Following too close is a major rookie mistake….and a deadly one…

Kids are often seen with their shorts, t-shirt, and flip flops rolling down the road…

Years ago while in a dealership, I saw a kid sitting at a sales desk closing a deal when the salesman asked the kid how long he had been riding…the kid said it was his first bike….the sales guy looked at him….and took a motorcycle safety class brochure and handed it to the kid…

The motorcycle he was buying as his first bike was a Ducati Monster…a very high end racing bike more at home on a race track than a city street…

Another future organ donor…

The worst drivers are in CARS! I often wonder how some of these Chico and Paradise drivers ever got their licenses, the way they drive. And this motorcycle law was introduced by OTHER 15-year olds who found that teenagers could get a permit simply by passing a written test, so I agree that they should be able to demonstrate a riding ability on a motorcycle before getting licensed. But some CAR drivers seem to need to be re-certified out on the road every WEEK!

Chris, please, enough with the ellipses..!

How to write poorly...

Overuse mutated ellipses...

Never use a comma...a dash...a (semi)colon...or a period...

If you absolutely must punctuate...to end what would otherwise pass for a sentence...for instance...toss in either two...or four (or more) dots as an "ellipsis"...

This will come across as lazy...gutless...and flippant all at once...

I don't know what kind of training they are going to get but it should include riding in the dirt and learning how to lay a bike down. I grew up riding in the dirt and then started riding on the street, which is very un-safe with most cars not looking for a motorcycle. I am 73 and still ride; however, I ride a YT 250 which we use to call enduro and now they call it dual sport.

The Air Force Already requires it. What is the difference if a State requires it? There isn't one.

One of my jobs was working for an insurance company and once a month I had to process motor cycle accidents that happened in Los Angeles county. I got hospital reports and coronor reports. Fifteen hours of training is inadequate, it is terrible to read about these young lives lost and the terrible injuries they sustain.

Stupid politicians. Like that will make any difference. Ride slow and pretend everybody is trying to hit you and you will live to ride a long time.

Sorry if my writing style offends...

I spent most of my life in the S.F. Bay area...

The Pulitzer Award winning news writer Herb Caen was one of my heros...

He was known as the father of "Three Dot Journalism"...

He wrote from the early 1940's to his death in the late 1990's for the S.F. Cronicle...

Ooohhh for cryin' out loud!!!
And just how many "hospital reports and coroner reports" did/do you receive all the time from AUTOMOBILES???

Just another one of the none thinking reactionary liberals! That believes that more laws are the answer to all of life’s/deaths problems.

Any bets that this stupid "training" (law) doesn't change the amount of "hospital reports and coroner reports"???

I am so sick and tired of liberals telling me what I CAN'T do!
Don’t have fun… you may just get hurt!!!
Cry Baby liberals… leave us alone. Go share your pitiful misery with another cry baby liberal!!!

For Brian Jones enlightenment, number one Iam not a liberal, number two I don't believe this law will be of any real benefit, number three all my sons and now a grandson have and have had motorcycles and gone across country more than once they have EVEN RIDEN FOR JESUS my nephew and his family still do ride for JESUS, one was a hells angel before he changed his notorius ways. The motorcycle accidents top the list for accidents involving brain damage and leg amputations.

Herb would want you to stay on topic, so quit worrying about Chris. If that isn't possible, at least make your tangent remotely interesting.
