First of all, just to be clear, I do not use any drugs or alcohol.
I see nothing wrong with having a medical marijuana dispersary. I would rather see legal users buy it from a store, than get it from someone who brought it into our country illegally.
I would rather be around someone who smokes pot than someone who is drunk. I have never seen any neighborhood suffer from having a dispenary. But I have seen liquor stores right across the street from schools, and that to me, is a bigger problem.
I think that marijuana should be legal and the pot smugglers who traffic it from other countries would stop and let our boarder patrols and police concentrate on real issues and not on pot.
If pot was handled like liquor, tax would be generated and that would be given back to our state. The savings alone on arresting people, having trials, and sending people to jail for pot, would be a great savings to our state.
Since it is legal for users to use medical marijuana, I don't think that we as a state or county or city has the right to deny citizens of their legal right.
We are not a dictatorship country and we should not try to be on this issue. The voters of California have spoken. Not just once, but twice and now in November, a third time.
Legalize pot, and do away with all this stupidity of denying someone their rights that have been granted to them by "We The People" who voted.
Unless of course, our votes don't matter? If that is the case, then lets think about that on any upcoming elections.
Politicians~think about that for a moment. Do our votes matter as citizens of California? I hope so.
Let's get real people. The law is the law and it was put in place by the people. No one has the right to stand in the way of what the people want.
I personnaly don't care if there is a dispensary on every corner, if it would help stop the illegal drugs being smuggled in and money being sent back to the foreign county to raise arms against us.
In the long run, we would be helping our country.
Allow the dispensary and legalize Marijuana. It is time.

Linda, I agree with you. However, there is way more money to be made (by all sides) keeping it illegal than by legalizing it. This is why it's going to be an incredibly uphill battle. Of course it would be better for the wellbeing of the common folk, but that's not what the politicians, unions & drug cartels care about now do they?
