A worthy cause and enterprise, but I would like an idea of how much property tax and insurance would cost on a $400K house in that neighborhood.

WOW, only $4,500 in RE tax?

That seems like a bargain.

Here in the socialist republic of IL that house value would be around $10,000 a year in RE taxes.

See, aren't democrats just great at "redistributing" homeowners money?

wouldn't you have to claim an additional $400,000 in income for the year (or more) and the income tax on that prize would be crazy. why don't they talk about that?

please, news crew, cover if there is, and how much is, property tax and prize income to be claimed on taxes...

I think St. Jude Hospital is a wonderful charity for children and
it is a great pleasure to support this event. Fox2 News is my favorite channel to watch for all the updated news, sports, and weather.

Fox 2 should make sure everyone knows the rules.

IRS charts estimate 150,000 in income tax on the 500,000 win. Read the rules. You have to come up with the taxes before they can give you the house, and you don't have long to claim it. That doesn't include state income taxes. Also, the $100 is not deductible as a donation.

I'd like to take a chance, but can't afford to win.

What I want to know who's drawing the winning ticket? are they paying an independed company to handle the drawing? Nothing like the people running the contest getting their relative too win the house.
Have all you forgot the last Non Profit right here in River city that did this, they were cheats.(Kidney foundation) Screw me once shame on you, screw me twice, shame on ME
