Commuter Update: Better roads on way, but not soon
Union County commuters haven't seen many road improvements lately to speed up their drives into southern and eastern Mecklenburg County.
But some relief is coming -- eventually, transportation officials say.
'We know there's a need,' said Tim Gibbs, a Charlotte transportation planner.
One of the most-needed projects for Union County residents is the widening of Providence Road.
It will grow to six lanes as far south as Ardrey Kell, and four lanes on to Rea Road in Weddington. Read more

The day we get bigger an better roads,pigs will fly,especially if Meck.has a hand in it.
