I live in Providence Glen, and I would like to thank the local paper for exposing the arrogance of certain members of the Marvin council. The paper did a great job in reporting the details, and by doing so exposed the poor elected leadership of Marvin.

Union County has had their share of poor representatives, and Marvin can now add to the list of self centered representatives who are not representative of the community.

If I were a member of Weddington Chase, I would certainly not be proud today in joining Marvin. They do not seem to be interested in building a community, but rather seem more interested in building a gate. It is not a proud day for Weddington Chase, and it easily could have been.

Mr. Curtis criticized Providence Glen for not being political enough. As I evaluate Mr. Curtis, I would suggest that this would be considered a strength of Providence Glen. No one in this community is remotely like him.

Congrats to the council, as they will get their way. Unfortunately, their victory has brought shame to their community.

Thanks go out to the current mayor John Ciaramella, former mayor Mike Cognac, and councilwoman Vicki Lawton, who supported our annexation request. We truly appreciate the support you gave us.

As fellow person in 'unicorporated Union County',(Hunter Oaks), I fully support you and the others in your fight to be a part of Marvin. I have been in the Marvin Town Council meetings, watching this play out over the past few months, and this has gotten very ugly. The true face of a few Council members have been shown.

I cannot wait until it is our turn to try!
