Mediacom service

I was just wondering if anyone else is having problems with Mediacom's phone or internet service. If so please let them know because they keep telling me no one else is having problems. They keep raising the rates but we have very poor service if even at all.

We switched to AT&T because of all the problems. They kept telling us the same.

I've had their service for almost a yaer and I've only had a couple of problems and they are always right on the problem, and I have TV, phone and internet and I only pay about $25.00 for each one. I got a really good deal when I signed up with them...

My son has trouble with his internet all the time, most days he can't even get on line. He is told the same thing, that no one is having any trouble. He is getting ready to change his internet service.

Our bill started out as $25 for each but now our bill is $168. The part that really stings is that we had to get new cell phones just so we can call out. We've had them out to the house and received a new modem but its not any better. We tried to get internet service through Dish TV but they said that mediacom has a contract that only they can provide high speed internet to this area.

12 YEARS AGO 22 DOLLARS A MONTH NOW 100 WHATS WRONG WITH THAT GREEDY PICTURE. I DONT SEE WHY WE HAVE TO PAY FOR CHANNELS WE DONT WATCH, I COULD GET BY WITH 10 CHANNELS BUT I HAVE TO PAY FOR 40. WHY THE FLUCK IS THIS? I REMEMBER THERE USED TO BE 2 CABLE COMPANIES IN TOWN, BUT WE GOT RID OF 1 SO WE COULD GET RAPED BY THE OTHER.

I remember when gas was 25 cents a gallon too. When I moved to Watseka in 1980 cable was $8.00 a month, Hamburger was 16 cents a pound, to use a pay phone was a dime, every thing cost more today. I bought my first new car in 1974 for $3500.00 and now you spend $20 to 50,00.00 for one. Do I like the fact that it cost a small fortune to have TV, phone or internet, no but that's life these days.I live in Sheldon and like I said before I pay right at $25.00 a month for all three from Mediacom and I haven't really have any major problems with their service. I wish everyone could have less problems with mediacom but it seems that alot are having big problems with them. I got my service using the internet and like I said I got a really good deal..

In August I dropped the cable portion of Mediacom and went with Direct TV Last night I dropped mediacom internet and will go with DSL I am saving $30.00 a month by going DSL (it will never increase) and I have been saving 35 a month with Direct TV total savings $65.00

Another good thing about switching I will not have to call mediacom after every heavy snow or ice storm and wait for 5 days before they come and put my line back up !!!

We still have Mediacom cable, but we switched to AT&T for phone & Internet. We pay $73. total a month. That's un-limited local & long distance & the Elite package Internet.

We pay close to $60. a month just for cable. We're not able to get DirectTV where we live. I wish we could!

In fact my DSL is FASTER than the cable internet!!!!

which companies do you have because I looked into other options and they told me that Mediacrap had a contract out that they were to be the only high speed providers for this area? I think this is a joke if they want to be the only provider then they need to Provide instead of just taking our money and telling us we are the only one with the problems. I didn't think they could have a monopoly on a service. If this is how their service is then maybe we should all go to the next town meeting and tell them that Mediacrap's contract is just that - crap.

Hi. We live here in Watseka, we have AT&T's DSL & phone service.

Mediacrap signs you on for internet at "really fast speeds at a really great price" and then decreases your bandwidth six months later which makes your internet surfing speed worse than dialup.

I agree AT&T telephone service is great for the money. Has anyone checked into Hughes for internet and Dish for TV?

I have service with all three and the combined price for what I subscribe to is by far better than any bundled package available through Mediacrap.
