Good to see you coming out of hiding.

All three agree that the Holy Spirit dwells in the heart of the one who is faithful to His teachings. Those teachings are the Scriptures.

Try again my sprinkling friend. ;)

Shawn, nice twist. But Johnny says one who teach LITERAL indwelling are teaching false.

You acknowledged a debate between 2 church of Christ preachers over this matter but said this doctrine wasnt a test of fellowship.

Wayne Jackson teaches that the Word only group like Johnny and others are wrong, teaching falsely.

Nice Spin, DR.

Where does the Bible teach that water baptism can be sprinkling as you affirm?

“This reminds me of a baptismal service we had a few years ago. Our church baptizes my immersion, but we had a young lady with a serious ear problem. Water in the ear could kill her according to the doctor. When her turn came the pastor said he was going to sprinkle her and he did. No one made an issue of it because water is not the savior.” Bobby

Under them circumstance, I honestly can't say it was sin. Under normal conditions I would say it would be sin. I will let God be judge in special cases.

he still teaches that the HS indwells, just not literally.

I have a book full of baptist, Methodist, etc. He believe that EIS does not mean because of in acts 2:38 and that the passage is teaching baptism for the remission of sins. You, Bobby, and sproul disagree with that. What does that say about you?

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL you really need to think about doing stand up, I think you missed your calling!

Is this the truth that has Novatus as your fearless leader coming out of acts, you know Pope Novatus? Or the truth where there is no actual example of refusing to serve communion by the Apostles or the truth that there is no example of the Apostles ever forcing a married couple to divorce to return to previous marriages to avoid hell even though they lived in a culture where divorce was easily obtained.

Or the truth that Paul speaks in Romans 8 where he clearly speaks of the endwelling of the Holy Spirit living in you. combined where he asks in Acts 19... 1While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples 2and asked them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when[a] you believed?"

So tell me did those men who did not have the Holy Spirit suddenly become all knowledgeable upon baptism or did they "receive the Holy Spirit of God"?

And if they received the Holy Spirit of God and were not Apostles how is it that John seems to imply that only the Apostles were indwelled by the Spirit of God?

Shawn you are ever learning but you have yet to come to the knowledge of the Truth!

And that truth is, if the Holy Spirit of God does not live in you, you are no part of Him!

Just so you know, I once was mixed in this crowd, even debated many of a preacher. I am well versed in their speech and know their arguments before they submit them. When approached with questions such as proof of the existence of the church of Christ prior to the 1800’s, I would tell folks that the church most likely went into hiding due to it being a target.

Recently, I seen Johnny putting a whole new spin on this, even showing snippets from some older books which refer to the church of Christ. It’s a bit funny and most people aren’t catching what he is doing. In short, the church was often called the church of Christ, even by those in what Johnny calls denominations. Even in old books and writing from the Catholic Church one can see the church called “church of Christ” but they weren’t referring to the “church of Christ” denomination that Johnny and Shawn are teaching. I challenge Johnny or Shawn to find “their teachings” prior to the 1800’s, not just find some books around 1664 with the words “church of Christ” but prove their teachings existed in them writings. It’s not there.
