Listen dumbass a yoke is a wooden frame placed on cattle or oxen and a yolk is that yellow thing inside an egg. Don't make me tell you again. Does it make sense slaves would wear a yolk? But that's what you said.
So, I mispelled the word - BIG DEAL!!! You know perfectly well what I was talking about. Just because I mispelled the word doesn't change the fact - the YOKE we're talking here - is the Yolk of burden of the OLD LAW OF MOSES ON THE PEOPLE!!!

My fingers fly so fast over the keyboard, I don't have the time nor inclination too worry about mispelled words, or grammer - I AM WAY MORE CONCERNED ABOUT THE MESSAGE!!!

You nit pick at little trivial matters that don't amount a hill of beans - yet you ignore GLARING COMMANDMENTS IN THE BIBLE THAT COULD MEAN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOUR - SALVATION OR ETERNAL DAMNATION...

Go figure....

There are plenty of other discrepancies. I picked those two because the NIV tells an outright lie with Luke 2:33 and Acts 2:38. It tells people that Joseph is the father of Jesus, not God, and that remission and forgiveness mean the exact same thing. Both NIV verses flatly contradict the KJV text. The NKJV is not much better.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it until it is broke.
I refuse to waste any more time debating about the accuracy of The New International version of the bible with you.

IF YOU DON'T LIKE (or believe) in the New International version of the Bible - that's your choice. I'm not condemmning your choice of sticking with the King James. It's purely just a matter of preference...

So you don't operate under a common name, tradition and identity?
So you aren't a section of the Christian religion with its own tbeliefs and practices?
So you can't trace your history to Alexander Campbell and Daniel Sommer?
You've left out ONE very important component of what makes up a DENOMINATION & that is - the Church of Christ is NOT CONTROLLED by a headquarters that hands down rules & regulations.

This is unlike ALL OTHER DENOMINATIONS - like the Baptist, the Methodist, the Prebsyterian, Pentecostal, Catholic, Lutheran, Jehovah Witness etc. etc.

Yes, Alexander Campbell & his associates played a huge role in the history of the Church of Christ!!!

They were the ones who RESTORED the church that was FOUNDED ON THE DAY OF PENTECOST...

To try to put this into perspective so you can understand it a little better - here's an example:

Just say, some country in OUTER MONGOLIA had never heard of the game of BASEBALL. And, let's also say Albert Pujoles came to OUTER MONGOLIA (with a manual on how the game of baseball is played).

Now say Albert Pujoles translated what was in that manual to the people of Outer Mongolia & taught them how to play the game of baseball - JUST AS IT WAS WRITTEN IN THE BASEBALL MANUAL.

Would you say that ALBERT PULOLES FOUNDED THE GAME OF BASEBALL???

This is the same senerio that happened during the Restoration movment of Alexander Campbell & his associates...

Now, can you see that Alexander Campbell & his associates DID NOT FOUND THE CHURCH OF CHRIST...?

Sounds awfully Muslim to me. They have to die to find out if Allah will accept them into heaven.

The ones that I met in Saudi Arabia had little books they carried around with them with lists of works they had done, were doing, and still needed to do. It became a competition among them to see see who was more devout, and they bragged about it incessantly.

"I have been to Hajj ten times! The iman is now married into my family!"

Crazy people.

It is unlike them. With your denomination, the local Church of Christ preacher hands down the rules and regulations.
Does yours let a divorced man or woman into your assembly? How about divorced and remarried?
Church of Christ preachers are BIG on putting people under law. But the church members with more money get more lee-way, based on what I saw. The preacher can't afford to condemn them too much.

Then the KJV translators blew that verse? How about the D-R translators? Both agree that it is ARE saved. Only the "modern" versions have changed it.

What a yolk. You didn't make a typo once...you did it multiple times in multiple posts which means you didn't know the difference until I told you. Funny thing now you have misspelled misspell and misspelled grammar. By the way your message is absurd.

No, your message is absurd!

The only reason you're making such a big deal over my mispelling of the word YOKE - is because I showed you where you were wrong in your interpertation of (Galatians 5:1). You will not admit that YOU WERE WRONG & I WAS RIGHT!!!

By trying to make me look foolish for mispelling the word YOKE - you think you are saving face because I proved you wrong...

If Im' wrong or make a mistake - AT LEAST I'M BIG ENOUGH TO ADMIT MY ERROR.

But, obviously you are not...

NO, since Jesus Christ is the HEAD OF OUR CHURCH. HE hands down the rule & regulations in his written word (THE BIBLE).

The local Elders & Deacons oversee the flock & make sure that the WORD OF GOD IS BEING TAUGHT & PRACTICED IN THE WORK OF THE CHURCH.

CHURCH OF CHRIST PREACHERS HAVE NO AUTHORITY IN THE CHURCH!!! They only preach & teach the word of God...

No one is denied assembling with us to worship - NO ONE - whether they be divorced and remarried or not!

The Church of Christ DOES NOT PUT PEOPLE UNDER LAW. I believe that was done on the day of Pentecost.

On the day of Pentecost when the people realized they had crucified the Son of God - they were pricked in their hearts. And they asked Peter what they must be do. Peter answered them saying, "Repent every one of you and be BAPTIZED in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you and ALL YOUR CHILDREN, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord shall call".(Acts 2:23-39)

All throughout the NEW TESTAMENT - we are told that we must repent & be BAPTIZED in order to be saved.

If you will study the New Testament - you will find that NO ONE WAS EVER SAVED WITHOUT BEING BAPTIZED...

You won't find EVEN ONE INSTANCE OF SOMEONE BEING SAVED IN THE NEW TESTAMENT WITHOUT BEING BAPTIZED...

Who said it failed for 1700 years???

How do we know that in some parts of the world the Gospel was not being preached & people were being Baptized? I tend to believe that it WAS being preached & people were being baptized (just as in the 1st century church.

We don't know that Christ's church failed for 1700 years - because for those 1700 years - we didn't have the communication that we have now - or - that we've had for the last 5-6 hundred years.

What we do know (just as the Bible tells us) is - that there would be a "falling away" from the New Testament Church (the Lord's Church)- and that is exactly what happened.

This "falling away" started with the Catholic church & continued on with all the denominational chruches & other so-called chruches which do no follow the teachings of the Bible...
