Catholic teaching since the beginning. I would think Protestants too except for Calvinists.

Jesus died for everyone's sins.

CCC:

622 The redemption won by Christ consists in this, that he came "to give his life as a ransom for many" (Mt 20:28), that is, he "loved [his own] to the end" (Jn 13:1), so that they might be "ransomed from the futile ways inherited from [their] fathers" (I Pt 1:18).

Basically, redemption is collective, while salvation is individual. Christ redeemed humanity collectively from slavery to sin and from the debt of punishment that mankind, as a whole, owed due to sin. Every person, Christian or non-Christian, is redeemed because he is a member of the human race. Salvation is the application of redemption to individuals. A person can choose to reject the graces won for him by Christ even though he has been redeemed.

Oh yeah, he didn't say they were saved. The Pope doesn't know if he is saved.

He goes to confession regularly.

Do you believe the media? Especially the Huffington Post. I found the offending passage.

I would hope your preacher would preach like this. We can meet doing good. What do you have against everybody doing good.

“The Lord has redeemed all of us, all of us, with the Blood of Christ: all of us, not just Catholics. Everyone!‘Father, the atheists?’ Even the atheists. Everyone! And this Blood makes us children of God of the first class! We are created children in the likeness of God and the Blood of Christ has redeemed us all! And we all have a duty to do good. And this commandment for everyone to do good, I think, is a beautiful path towards peace. If we, each doing our own part, if we do good to others, if we meet there, doing good, and we go slowly, gently, little by little, we will make that culture of encounter: we need that so much. We must meet one another doing good.‘But I don’t believe, Father, I am an atheist!’ But do good: we will meet one another there.

"Oh yeah, he didn't say they were saved. The Pope doesn't know if he is saved."

How does he find out? Have to die and then see if he made the cut?

Scary way to play poker.

Thanks for admitting that. It is also similar to some coc teaching. Many of them don't know for sure they are saved either which is why they always end every prayer "forgive us if we have any un- confessed sin". Well, not exactly in those same words:-)

It is amazing how close guys like Heath and Johnny are in agreement with you, of course they will never admit it.

No guarantee of salvation-it is just an empty promise until the day we die? Why, because works for salvation has no assurance-it depends on man's performance not the cross.

That's what we all have to do. If you follow the way Jesus teaches, on should be okay. Only God knows who is in that book.

I was saved. I am being saved. I hope to be saved.

Don't you agree with that part of his homily.

Where is the Bible does it say Bobby is saved?
