Mike and I have 2,000 years of apostolic teaching and the witness of holy men and women by the billions behind us. You have one man's career path who figured out he could make a living bashing Catholics. The joke's on you and it's pretty damn funny.

On the Journey Home tv show this past week, there was an AA woman pastor from the Disciples of Christ, whoever they were, who had converted to the Church.

In her seminary she had read all the Church fathers and believed more like a high end Prot but was very liberal.

She claimed that her community split up with the COC during the Civil War. Hers was against slavery and the COC pastors promoted it.

But she also said the reason COC don't use instruments is because the northern communities wouldn't send them money for any after the war , so they just claimed it as Theology.

Don't care either way, but I like history.

Do all CATs use four letter words like those of sinners? I guess it is okay for you CATs after all you can confess that in the confession booth and then you will be all clean till the next sin. What a great system.

It would be hard to know 1.2 Billion.

Great system ???

Your OSAS man made belief. Nobody can beat that one. You don't even have to confess.

You don't have to do anything. Just exist. Free ticket by saying some words.

That is how you get so many Catholics. Easy. No guilt. Believe what you want, say a prayer, and you are good for life.

The bible does say "many" will be mislead. PS. Again, latin is not permitted, by the pope, certain parish have said mass in latin and were informed that it is to stop. Some parish has ignored this request from Rome. Why do you think Rome is started to ignored American Catholic. They don't like the free thinking that we do. Some Catholic use birth control some don't, some believe in abortion, some don't. Why do you think a latin Pope was name. It what the numbers say. They'll listen to Rome with it's pagan rituals. Again, are you catholic, are you afraid to research on what is going on. Get your head out of the sand like I did and look around.

Ignorance can be only temporary. It is your choice to learn or not. Stupidity is forever. I hate to use that word but in some instances if fits.

What you write is mostly stupid.

For those who are challenged, this means Latin Masses are perfectly fine.

" But in some regions, no small numbers of faithful adhered and continue to adhere with great love and affection to the earlier liturgical forms. These had so deeply marked their culture and their spirit that in 1984 the Supreme Pontiff John Paul II, moved by a concern for the pastoral care of these faithful, with the special indult 'Quattuor abhinc anno," issued by the Congregation for Divine Worship, granted permission to use the Roman Missal published by Blessed John XXIII in the year 1962. Later, in the year 1988, John Paul II with the Apostolic Letter given as Motu Proprio,'Ecclesia Dei,' exhorted bishops to make generous use of this power in favor of all the faithful who so desired."

If you prefer a Latin Mass, you can attend.

LOL They allow a lot more than that! Good friend of mine is a DoC organist in a church with a huge pipe organ. Around here the DoC is failing...one has even gone out of business. The DoC is populated with aging members and no one is coming along to replace them.

The word "until" seems to indicate that after the birth of Jesus there were normal marital relations. However, the Greek word heos (ἕω&#96 2;) which is translated as until, does not imply that anything happened after Jesus' birth, nor does it exclude it. The point of the verse is that Joseph was not responsible for the conception of Jesus.
2 Samuel 6:23: And Michal the daughter of Saul had no child to (until) the day of her death.(Does this mean she had children after she died?)
1 Timothy 4:13: Until I come, attend to the public reading of scripture, to preaching, to teaching.(Does this mean Timothy should stop teaching after Paul comes?)
1 Corinthians 15:25: For he (Christ) must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.(Does this mean Christís reign will end? By no means! Luke 1:33 says, "he will reign over the house of Jacob forever and of his kingdom there shall be no end.")
This is how false you are. You deny what the text says. Whom send Phillip to explain to the ethiopian the scripture? The church? NOPE.

Benedict XVI went even further to encourage the availability of the Tridentine Mass.

An interesting item in the news this week: A parish in North Carolina with 1500 families is currently being served by only one priest due to illness. Poor guy is running ragged and had to drop some of the weekly masses from the schedule. The Latin Mass and the Mass in Spanish were dropped.

Of course. Phillip was made a deacon in the Church in Acts 6. The HS sent him to teach scripture.

Just like God told Paul that the Church is the pillar and foundation of the Truth.

Just like Jesus says whoever hears the Church hears him.

Good verse for Apostolic Succession too.

1
1 At that time, as the number of disciples continued to grow, the Hellenists complained against the Hebrews because their widows were being neglected in the daily distribution.
2
2 So the Twelve called together the community of the disciples and said, "It is not right for us to neglect the word of God to serve at table. 3
3
Brothers, select from among you seven reputable men, filled with the Spirit and wisdom, whom we shall appoint to this task,
4
whereas we shall devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word."
5
The proposal was acceptable to the whole community, so they chose Stephen, a man filled with faith and the holy Spirit, also Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicholas of Antioch, a convert to Judaism.
6
They presented these men to the apostles who prayed and laid hands on them. 4

Yes. That quote was from one his writings.

My guy, a former boat person from Vietnam, has 2 small parishes but only 3 weekend Masses. He splits the daily masses at one of the 2 each week.

I was head of the finance committee for a while. He was making a total of $750 a month with expenses and he technically has one day off.

Of course. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit started the Church. The HS sent the Church to the Eunuch. Phillip was a Deacon in the Church. He was in Samara at the time preaching, if I am not mistaken. He had converted a bunch of Jews and Paul and John had to go down there and lay hands on them to complete their conversion. That was the sacrament of confirmation.

The HS then told Philip to get on the Jerusalem to Gaza road.

This is very important in Salvation History. It wasn't who sent him but why was he sent. The only reason he sent Phillip is to show the world the Church taught scripture.

"How can I learn scripture unless somebody teaches me."

Scripture does not teach the Church.

No Sola Scriptura for 1.5 more millennium. Satan created that .

HA HA HA. Confirmation is the same ritual that the jews is do. It is the day you are responsible for your actions. The age of 13 you become a man. And to think you have the balls to say I am foolish. HA HA HA. I am also starting to think that your not Catholic also like I do with your partner.

Tune in your antennae. Your focus is terrible. After Phillip had baptized the Samaritans, why did John and his fellow apostle walk all the way there to lay their hands on them?

I thought you were Catholic. Focus!!!! Did the bishop lay hands on you? Take your time.

Ignorance.

The Catholic church must not be the real church because they sure do not teach anything. They have been confronted time and time again about their practices and refuse to teach anything. They usually switch the subject or start calling bad names.

Did you want to stop this post once you hit 'post comment'?

This is one of most asinine posts I have read other than all of those by KJ.

There are 2000 years of teaching from every century since Jesus about what the Church teaches. 10's of thousand of Saints you can read about and learn what it means to be a Christian.
