<quoted text>Generalize falsely? What is that? You were made topix police in your mind only, the post wasn't addressed to you so if you don't like it, don't read it. I intend to let the posts speak for themselves just as I said (which is the reason I posted them as I did). I think that will show us a perfect example of someone that has their head up their ass. I hope that is not to "general" for you.
1. For someone who wanted to talk about the scriptures, you sure are focused on everything but the scriptural topics at hand.

2. You probably shouldn't get after the catholics for their language after posting this. Note from topix police- I usually don't do this, but in your last sentence the spelling should be "too" and not "to".

The baptism of the Spirit, followed by speaking in tongues, was not given to every believer, nor is normal for today. Agree or disagree?

It's funny to see someone who claims to speak in tongues then turn around and go to a foreign country and have to get a translator.

Just like people claiming "healing powers" but still unwilling to go into a hospital and prove it.

Gotta be careful with that Mark 16:14-20 stuff.

Sins: Why did Jesus give his Church the authority to forgive sins?
He didn't.

Remember, it is a kingdom, not a democracy. The sheep doesnt tell the Shepherd that they know the truth themselves because they can read.
Sheep don't tell the Shepherd they can forgive or retain sins either.

I usually do not use those terms and did not do so carelessly here. I thought it was the most appropriate figurative description I could use and did so after some thought. After some time had passed sometimes one reconsiders but I still thought it most appropriate of all the phrases that came to mind. Actually it is the first time I have used the phrase on topix, nothing personal just the best description I can think of.

Acts 1:6-7

Oh yeah you will get different takes on this. If we take this for what it says it means that the apostles were under the impression that Israel will one day see a restoration of things. Jesus didn’t deny what they said but seems to confirm it by say it wasn’t for them to know the times or seasons which the Father has put in his own power. If anything Jesus is saying one day Israel will be restored but it is not for them nor us to know when. That is how I see this not sure your take though.
A recent "find" is from Seiss's book, The Gospel of the Stars. The disciples were said to be in possession of the kingdom, but that it's fullness had not yet arrived. The sign of Taurus speaks to the judgment of God. Still looking it over, but it could be that on His return the Saints will have part in bringing the world in subjection to Him and ridding it of evil - that's what it seems to be saying.

Anyone else familiar with the book and the sign of the bull and associated decans?

The end of Mark seems to be saying the Apostles would work signs to confirm the word - and Mark's words have been misapplied for a long time.

"The children must first be fed" said Jesus, speaking of the lost sheep of the house of Israel. The gospel that they were given to preach was to go first to Jerusalem, then to Judea, then to Samaria, and then everywhere else after Israel had been converted. But that didn't happen.

The apostles that he gave the so-called "great commission" to never made it out of Jerusalem. The death of Stephen ended that before it ever got off the ground with the rejection by the church at Jerusalem, which was taken over from Peter by James (not the one who wrote the epistle).

And there isn't anyone alive today carrying out the so-called "great commission" of Matthew 28,.Mark 16, and Luke 24.
