If that's the case, then Paul, Timothy, Silas, and lots other people that were with them sure were "outside the will of the Lord" when they went on their journeys into Asia minor.

Not one single instance of any of them touting Peter, popes, apostolic succession, veneration of Mary, rosary beads, or candles and purgatory, yada yada yada.

No evidence of "Catholicism" in Corinth, Thessalonica, Galatia, Ephesus, Colosse, Phillipi, or even in Rome from what Paul wrote.

Far from it.

This time I was drinking coffee while reading your absurd post and was careful not to laugh. You have provided a list of ethnic and geographical churches in full communion with the Bishop of Rome and the Roman Catholic Church. Many of these trace their origin to the Apostles. You will see them represented wearing their distinctive vestments at all major events at St. Peters in Rome. By the way Catholics are not allowed to be Masons. That is a prot club.
I knew that because catholics have their own exclusive secret club with their men at the top who the lower classes worship and obey. Not much different from masons from my vantage point.

Mike: It is hard to believe that someone who is presented with facts, would not do some research to refute these facts. Everything you have said is what you Want To Believe happened because it messes up your faith life. You are living a lie if you truly believe what you posted.

Dave: I have done my homework Mike. This is part of the catholic calvary's problem. You guys assume people are either stupid or just don't know or care about "history". Read the scriptures and then compare history and catholic doctrine. The costliest departure from the faith was the practice of appointing one "bishop" or president over a congregation. That is foreign to the NT. From there, the catholic hierarchy evolved. That was not orthodox NT Christianity, it was a departure from it.

Do you deny that this occurred? The NT predicted a rebellion from the faith; a "man of sin" sitting in "God's temple". I think the RCC is a fulfillment of this very idea.

You see, I don't have to deny that catholicism is old, or that millions haven't followed it. I do deny that it was the "only" true church; I think many were saved in that period in spite of catholicism. There were always people who disagreed with the RCC; always will be now.

Mike: You continue to put your head in the sand on the history of the bible, Gods written word.

Dave: I contend instead that you do. I give credit where it is due; catholicism takes credit it does not deserve. The NT was complete by the end of the first century; congregations had access to most if not all of it for a long time before your council convened. God inspired the scriptures, and decided a long time before what was scripture and what wasn't. The Jewish cannon was put together before a catholic was ever born.

Mike: How can you profane a symbol? You have to in unity with his Church like he and his father are to receive the body and blood of Christ.

Dave: Do all catholics receive both now? If so when did that change?

Apparently you do not know the scripture. Proverbs 16:18 Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.

I mentioned both pride and arrogance.

Bobby is just like every CofC Sunday School teacher and preacher I ever met. Indeed, he reminds me of the two who "preached" at my mother's funeral. Dumb as rocks.

I would like to know how Bobby figures that I don't know scripture since I knew immediately he was quoting Shakespeare not Proverbs!

The problem is you did not know it came from Proverbs. I guess that makes you as dumb as a box of rocks. You guys have invited a fight and wonder why.

I was traveling today and listening to a Catholic program. A Catholic caller asked about a problem he was having. He wants to marry a woman who is having trouble passing the Catholic test it seems. The host was a little confused when said he was married and trying to get married in the church. The man explained they were married by a Justice of the Peace and they want to marry in the church. The host emphatically said if you are not married in the church you are NOT MARRIED. Just think the first Pope was living in Catholic sin because he was not married in a Catholic church.

Marriage is a Sacrament. A justice of the peace marriage is not valid in the Church.

Was St Peter still married? His wife was never mentioned. His mother in law was. I like to think she was dead. If not then Jesus told him to leave everything he had and follow him. I will believe Jesus would not tell him to leave his wife.
