Mary as the new Ark of the Covenant:
All of this comes from the Bible. Most of you have the Bible memorized so why should I list verses.
David and the Ark
1 David “arose and went” to move the Ark.
They're in Judah (they start out from Baale of Judah)
They're in the hill country: Abinadab's house is on one of these hills, and it's navigating these hills that causes the ox to stumble, the Ark to totter, and Uzzah to touch the Ark, which causes God to strike him dead.
David, vexed by the death of Uzzah, asks,“How can the ark of the LORD come to me?”
Obededom and his household are blessed by the presence of the Ark.
David dances before the Ark.
The Ark stays with Obededom for three months.
Compare this to Mary as the new Ark.
Mary “arose and went” to transport her and her Son to the household of Elizabeth.
They're in Judah.
They're in the hill country.
Elizabeth's question mirrors David's, but is asked out of joy, rather than vexation:“And why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?”
Elizabeth is blessed by the presence of Mary (“the mother of my Lord”).
John the Baptist dances in the womb upon hearing Mary's greeting.
Mary stays for three months.
Mary = The New Ark of the Covenant

If the ark of the covenant is an actual person, then you are elevating Mary above Jesus.

Seriously? Did you really post this? Is this catholic theology? The biggest point here has obviously been missed. How is anyone supposed to take your organization seriously with teaching like this?

The reason they elevate the mother of Christ to this ridiculous level is to attract women to the religion. End of story.
Paul gets knocked all the time for allegedly being "anti-women," so this stunt is just another clever marketing tactic to recruit and retain 1/2 of the population by having Mary identify personally with women.
"Co-mediatrix" ... even Pope Peter was all like "Dude, wait, what???"
#5 Jun 1, 2013
Of course not. That is ridiculous. Does the love of your wife and family take away the your love of Jesus?
#6 Jun 1, 2013
Not at all, but I do not raise any of them above Jesus. Mary was a mere human selected to give birth to the son of God. An honor? Yes but she had no supernatural qualities that qualifies as someone we should pray to.

That is the weirdest thing I have every heard about Blessed Mary.
Have you ever heard the commandment honor your Mother? From the cross, a pretty serious and important place to say something, Jesus says " Behold your Mother".
We are all her offspring.
Revelation 12 16
But the earth helped the woman and opened its mouth and swallowed the flood that the dragon spewed out of its mouth.
Then the dragon became angry with the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring, those who keep God's commandments and bear witness to Jesus. 13 (18) It took its position 14 on the sand of the sea.
Do you keep God's commandments and bear witness to Jesus? If you do she is your Mother too?

The early Christians writing about this, taught by people who were taught by the Apostles.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church echoes the words of all the Fathers that I have quoted below. It is the Catholic Church that is the heir and successor of those first Christians. The Catechism of the Catholic Church continually teaches the words from the earliest centuries,“Mary, in whom the Lord himself has just made his dwelling, is the daughter of Zion in person, the Ark of the covenant, the place where the glory of the Lord dwells. She is “the dwelling of God ... with men.”(CCC 2676
St. Ambrose (c. 339-397)
“The prophet David danced before the Ark. Now what else should we say the Ark was but holy Mary? The Ark bore within it the tables of the Testament, but Mary bore the Heir of the same Testament itself. The former contained in it the Law, the latter the Gospel. The one had the voice of God, the other His Word. The Ark, indeed, was radiant within and without with the glitter of gold, but holy Mary shone within and without with the splendor of virginity. The one was adorned with earthly gold, the other with heavenly”(Serm. xlii. 6, Int. Opp., S. Ambrosii)(Blessed Virgin, p. 77).
St. Cyril (315-387?)
“The Ark would be the type and image of Christ : for if we look back to the way of the Incarnation of the Only-begotten, we shall see that it is in the temple of the Virgin, as in an ark that the Word of God took up His abode. For in Him dwelt all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, as the Scripture saith. But the testimonies in the ark were the word of God, and the wood of it was imperishable, and with pure and choicest gold was it beautified within and without”(St. Cyril, De ador. In Spir. Et Verit, p. 293, St. Maximus of Turin and other Fathers apply the Ark of the Covenant to the Blessed Virgin Mary)(Blessed Virgin, p. 76).
Hesychius (lived c. 300)
“The ark is without doubt the Virgin Mother of God. For if Thou art the gem, with reason is she the ark; and because Thou art the sun, the Virgin will necessarily be called heaven: since Thou art the unfading flower, the Virgin must assuredly be the plant of incorruption and paradise of immortality. Which things Isaias, seeing from afar, exclaimed later on: Behold a Virgin shall conceive in her womb, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel. Behold a Virgin. Who is she? The most noble of women, the elect from among virgins, the splendid ornament of our nature, the glory of our mould, who freed Eve from her shame and Adam from the curse, who cut off the bold insolence of the dragon, she whom the smoke of concupiscence touched not, nor the worm of pleasure harmed”(Is.vii. 14).(Hesychius, Orat. De Virginis laudib. Biblioth. PP. Græco-Lat. Tom. ii. p. 423)(Blessed Virgin, p. 89).

The woman "clothed in the sun" of Revelation is Israel, Mike. Her offspring are the 12 tribes of Israel.
Mary was the earthly mother of my savior. That's it. She is not my "co-redemptrix" or anything else.

I do not raise Mary above Jesus. Any Catholic that does is not a True Catholic.
She is alive in heaven with Jesus. You can tell Jesus why you did honor his Mother. Jesus said she was our Mother too. Good luck.
You dont even call her Blessed like the Bible commands you to. Why dont you at least do that.

Mother of God? Be careful there, The Godhead has no origin.
The Catholic concept that God could or does have a mother based on the fact that such a mother would have to be in existence before God, which is impossible.
The Bible says that God is eternal and had no beginning. God can have no mother and still be God. Also, there can be no person who existed before God. Therefore, there is no Mother of God.
For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me; and this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up at the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that every one who sees the Son and believes in him should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
"I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!"
And lots of other verses say the same thing.

Right on bro...everyone knows that back in the 1100's A.D. a bunch of women got together in Paris and decided they needed a really big church so they spent a few centuries building Our Lady and they managed to do it with only hand tools! And all around the world thousands more women built huge Our Lady churches. Hell, those women even built a big university with a football team loved and adored by women everywhere.
#13 Jun 1, 2013
And Alabama (coached by a Catholic guy) just clown-raped Notre Dame recently.
So much for Jesus loving his football team. Do I need to ask Mary how come they can't tackle?

Fact 1, the Messiah (Seed) is of the woman.
Fact 2, the Signs of the heavens placed and named by God begins with Virgo, the virgin, with the 'Desired One' on her knee.
Fact 3, once here, the Desired One didn't elevate His mother to a higher status than what she was - His mother, and compared her with everyone else who came to learn from Him - not her, not petitioning through her.
Fact 4, the primary testimony from Mary about Jesus was 'Do whatever He tells you to do.'
Yes, she was blessed above all other women to be found in the grace of God to give birth to the Messiah. We should honor that. We should respect that. But we also must respect whatever her son Jesus had to say on the topic!
There is no elevation of Mary until the Roman pagans tried to replace their pagan deity with Mary. That's too coincidental to ignore. Sorry.

Btw Mike I just found out that our pastor will be preaching at a methodist church down the street tomorrow.

Mary said all that the ND defense could see was Manti Teo's girlfriend. No wonder they couldn't tackle. Hehehehe Roll Tide!

Been meaning to ask you for a while, where do you get the info about the zodiac from? Is there a good online source?

The church as the bride of Christ fulfills the ideas brought forth here. Some of the ideas aren't workable at all as typology.
Example-in scripture, man is held accountable for the fall, not the woman, although she was deceived and ate first. Man is the head of the household. In no way did the woman "cause" salvation.

Dave, do you think that Manti Te'os girlfriend was ... Mary?
