Olethros is with Jeff Lynch (Bridgetown church) they are with ARP(Association of Related Churches) Kinda like "amway" where they make all the common people do the work while the ones at the top get rich. They consist of ALL kinds of so-called denominations who teach all kinds of conflicting doctrines. I visited with them and asked Jeff if he would like to have a bible discussion and he said "No, I would not like to discuss the bible"

NOT AT ALL LIKE PAUL...2Th 3:1 ¶ Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:

They evidently pray that the word of the Lord be hidden.

Their motto should be,'Bring your pocket book but leave your bible at home."

Acts, Chapter 2
38:Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

"and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost"

Heath,

HAVE YOU RECEIVED THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST?

DO YOU HAVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST?

If not, do you want to become a member of the church that Jesus started and that you can read about in the Book of Acts in the Bible?

YOU MUST RECEIVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST.

As according to the word of God... Acts 2:38.

All you people who are meeting with people every Sunday that call themselves the Church of Christ.

To be saved and added to the Lord's church you must..

1. Repent

2. be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.

3. receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Now I know the cults and fakes say that all they have to do is...

1. Repent

2. be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.

BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS.

36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and [ai]Christ—this Jesus whom you crucified.”
37 Now when they heard this, they were [aj]pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles,“[ak]Brethren,[al]wha t shall we do?” 38 Peter said to them,“Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.” 40 And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying,“[am]Be saved from this perverse generation!” 41 So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand [an]souls. 42 They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and [ao]to prayer

The Ingathering

From this text many things can be seen. A message, a response,a message, a response a promise, and a further response.

Message from peter was they were guilty, Their response What shall we Do? A message repent and be immersed to remove your guilt and sins and receive the spirit. This promise is not just for you but all. They continued to learn from the apostles daily.

That's what the record says, but the 'missing link' to the teachings of the Lord is the being hearers and doers of whatever Jesus taught.

What about Acts 3:22,23? Is that as needful as belief, immersion into His name for the forgiveness of sins and the promised gift of the Holy Spirit?

If what Jesus taught is true, it certainly is.

Have you heard that taught in the Church of Christ?

22 Moses said,‘The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet [k]like me from your brethren; to Him you shall give heed to everything He says to you. 23 And it will be that every soul that does not heed that prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’ 24 And likewise, all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and his successors onward, also announced these days. 25 It is you who are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God [l]made with your fathers, saying to Abraham,‘And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’ 26 For you first, God raised up His [m]Servant and sent Him to bless you by turning every one of you from your wicked ways.”

Moses a prophet says God will bring Jesus to the world. In the transfiguration God said Listen now to Christ not Moses or the other prophets. He reminds them of that here. The prophets and the OLd Law was for bring you to this point of the New Law of Christ.

Good stuff yep heard it preached several times.

OK, where is verse 31? Does the Howe Church of Christ teach the need to abide in the teachings of Jesus to know the truth?:-) If you don't - you don't.
