It's in that Bible your church purportedly created. See if you can dust it off and find it. Most likely not, but you know right where those keys are!
Hi to Francine.
"Ignorant" is not a word I would throw around if I were you. So tell us exactly what you had to do to "belong" to this church.

Mike, just admit it. You really have no idea what you actually believe. You just went with the prettiest church buildings and artwork. No wonder you left the Baptist church.

Sure I do.

I found out that the 1st Century, 2nd Century, 3rd Century.......21st Century Christian Church was and is the Catholic Church.

I also found out that Protestants are only Christian because the Church says they are.

The original Protesters were not Christians, they were heretics.

However, the Church would not call somebody born into heresy a heretic. It wasn't my fault for example, I was born a Baptist and it wasn't your fault you were born a COC, whatever that is.

But once you learn what the CC teaches you can't use invincible ignorance anymore.

If you learn and reject it you are a heretic. If you speak out against it your are blasphemer.

The Church speaks for Christ. She is his Bride.

The Protesters divorced Christ.

You tell me. Your boys wrote the Bible, remember?

Honestly, get a refund from whatever junior college you slept through.

Aren't you late for mass? Get those sins washed away until tomorrow. Looks like you'll be staying late with the priest again.

How's that "repenting" lifestyle working out for you? Have you repented enough to make yourself acceptable to God? How will you even know?
You will NEVER make yourself acceptable to God without Christ's righteousness imputed to you. All the so-called repenting, water baptizing, works, and "holy living" in the world will land you straight into hell. Repentance isn't "cleaning up your flesh", which can never be cleaned up. Find me someone in that Bible who cleaned up their flesh and made themselves acceptable to God. Better yet, find me where God told you that you could clean up your flesh and make it acceptable to him.
Jesus Christ, and what he did for you, just isn't good enough for you. It's always gotta be something else. And THAT is religion.

"The original Protesters were not Christians, they were heretics."

You're right.

Galatians records that they were Jews, who rejected the gospel of the grace of God and the finished work of the cross. Those are the first recorded "protesters".

The Catholic church came along later, and picked up where these orthodox Jews left off. Protesting the gospel given to Paul, and justification by the faith of Jesus Christ. The epistle of James proves that the Catholic church rejects justification by the faith of Jesus Christ by putting it back on man to add to what Christ did, largley due to poor study of the entire word of God.

So in essence, that makes you one of the original "protesters". How will you answer for it when God asks you why you rejected his son's imputed righteousness? Turn to James 2 and show God your "good works?"

Good luck with all that.

Go find the closest mirror and see that person that you just described staring back at you. You are no more "abiding in Christ" than Judas was.

Good luck with that law-keeping. Break one, and you've broken all of them, btw.

You got that right. Born into it, and can't clean that sinful flesh up no matter how bad you want to.

Better go with someone else's righteousness, huh.

""If you learn and reject it you are a heretic. If you speak out against it your are blasphemer.

Who blasphemes God!? Is it what we, as any particular Church, say, or is it actually what God has said on the matter of who He considers a blasphemer? And if the matter is in the hands of God, what He has declared to be the truth is the truth. We can all look to the Scripture to see what He said about it by direct word and by the judgment He has used in the past.
God gave us the criteria to know who spoke or speaks for Him. Moses was explicit to record those things in Deut. 4, 12, 13, 18. Isaiah has a few passages about it, namely the 'if they speak not according to the Law and the Testimony, there is no light in them' warning. Y'shua (Jesus) used the same standards in His teachings and strongly and repeatedly warned of false christs, false prophets and false teachers that were to come after Him. And the apostle John had keen words to us in I and II John that built upon these things and summarized some of the key things Y'shua taught and the need to stay with what He taught. If we don't reject the words of the Son, we still remain with the fact that He gave the same tests that God gave Moses - He spoke according to the Law and the Testimony.
Just as Israel was unfaithful to God, the Church became unfaithful to Him as well - particularly those who set up their thinking and rules to be more important to hear than what God had said as a whole or through His Son. God has long said to keep His word, to serve Him alone, to be careful to do what He said and not add to or take away from His words - only those qualified by the rules He gave may be found true to give additional insight and truth.
So if the Catholic Church shows itself to have been unfaithful to God - she is unfaithful. If the Protestants have shown themselves to also be unfaithful to His word, then they are unfaithful. Both are judged by the same words of God - the whoring divorced wife telling the other whoring unfaithful new wife as being unfaithful for not cooking the same meatloaf that she used to cook as being the reason the younger whoring wife is unfaithful is utter nonsense and a lie. It has everything to do with faithfulness to the Husband and being careful to do what He said to do - to be faithful to do His will.
The bride made herself ready. He is coming for His own. Those not abiding in His word and will and truth are in for the surprise of their lives...'Lord! Lord! Lord!', but He told them: "Depart from Me, ye workers of iniquity, I never knew you." The word used is talking about 'lawlessness'. Per Y'shua, if we love Him, we will keep His commandments, just as He loved the Father and kept His commandments. If you keep the commandments of Y'shua (Jesus), you will be squarely in keeping the commandments of God, as He never taught against even the least of them, let alone one of the primary ten.
If any man preaches another gospel than Y'shua taught and lived, that man is not preaching the truth of God - you'd just as well join a country club to save your soul.

The CC can and never will be unfaithful to God. Did not Jesus promise that? He said his Bride speaks for him and binds and loosens and forgive sins or not

Men surely will. The Church is full of sinners. The Apostles who helped start the Church were sinners. There would never have been a Church if the criteria was no sinners.

Protesters did not reform anything. They started their own religion and continue to this day.

Yesterday the LDS missionaries came over for a while. I asked them how they know no prophet of their Church could lead them astray from what God said to do, as we are to be careful to make sure we don't add to or take away from those matters.

Their reply was that Willford Woodruff gave a revelation about 1900 that said God wouldn't allow the LDS Prophet to lead the Church astray.

Sound familiar? in concept at least...

God said false prophets would come so He would know if we love and serve Him or not.

Seems like a denial of what God said about it?

Are you comparing to what whoever this guy said to what Jesus said?

All non Catholic religious communities have the same fundamental issue.

Jesus actually said he started the Catholic Church.

All others were started by men.

Since I really like history, I had the Mormon missionaries speak at my house many years ago. I read the Book of Mormom.

1 strange set of beliefs. But I have yet to meet a Mormon I did not like personally.

Most I've met are nice, but there are some of a different breed, such as one who said if Adam wasn't a God, and God wasn't going to make him a God too, then a lot of people were going to die...spooky guy.

I can read what Jesus said, and no where do I see that He started the RCC. He said it's about discipleship to whatever He taught - not any man - not Peter, James or John - but what He said - what He had first taught them....not even a Pope mentioned - not even veneration of His mother... no prayers to dead saints...just to point out a few things He said..

After renaming Simon (Cephas), Peter (the first person in history be named Rock), he said he would build his Church upon him.

A Church was built. There was only 1 Church for 1500 years. Jesus created the CC.

You read and believe what ever you want. Sola Scriptura is not in the Bible either.

Prayers to the dead is in my Bible. You are short some written words.

Everything is not in the Bible. My Bible says that. I know yours does.

It is Catholic tradition, no doubt. Problem is tradition can be from God or man, good or evil, a truth or a lie, therefore it is not equal to the word of God. Mike has been caught in false statements many times. Usually he sends Mark in to call us names like "your effing crazy" and pass out his famous peanuts. The real truth is the word of God stands above tradition.

Therefore the Catholic Church we have today was created by man and of course, run by a man.
