I believe every one of those verse.
I just don't believe that when Jesus said whoever hears you hears me was talking about you.
Judas comes to mind. He accepted Jesus and followed him,
I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize(1 Cor 9:27). Here the prize is salvation, as is clear from the preceding verses. Saint Paul follows a disciplined life because he knows that there is a possibility that he might forfeit the salvation that he preaches. For this reason, in the very next chapter, Paul encourages the Christians in Corinth to do the same:So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you dont fall(1 Cor 10:12). The fall here is the fall from grace spoken about by Paul in Galatians 5:4. Interestingly enough, the warning about falling from grace in Galatians 5:4 is immediately followed up by Pauls exhortation to have faith working through love in Galatians 5:6.
Saint Paul lists a set of sins and concludes with,I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God(Gal 5:21). Who is Paul warning? He is warning Christians. If they do these things, then they will fall from grace. In other words, they shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Paul shows that there are certain sins that are mortal. These sins disqualify a Christian from inheriting the kingdom of God. The Apostle could not explain it any more clearly. In fact, these mortal sin lists are a common feature of Pauls epistles. For more examples of Pauls lists of mortal sins, see also Rom 1:28-32; 1 Cor 6:9-10; Eph 5:3-5; Col 3:5-8; 1 Tim 1:9-10; 2 Tim 3:2-5.

Mike is on trial each and every day... He is saved one day and lost the next. The truth is we are all guilty and need a pardon-it is called grace.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Hope you make it through purgatory-I hear it gets pretty hot in there...

Amen. No where did you say it was forever. It wasn't for Judas.
St Paul kept working on his salvation. I guess God likes you you better.
When do you think you were saved? In AD 32?

"When do you think you were saved? In AD 32?"
Some say it was Ad 33-either way -yes my salvation was procured at the cross.
Don't forget to punch the time clock or you might miss your heavenly pay check.

When you were born, were you already saved ?
You seem confused. Was it then or a few years ago?
If it was then, then the whole world is saved and we all are going to heaven.
Wait a minute, I forgot about old John Calvin. You were saved at the cross if you Jesus elected you to be saved.
Wait, don't you have to make an altar call, with no altar, and say a sinners prayer to the preacher man?
I almost forgot about that that old pesky baptism thing. I know you were baptized for the forgiveness of sins.
You are one of those Heinz 40,000 protesters. You hit all of those man made beliefs in your lifetime to get all your bases covered except for the Church. Thats why you go to a community church where all beliefs are accepted. One that gives 70 different degrees to different denominations.
Bobby, when were you saved and how do you know? At one time you believe baptism saved you, then you believed an altar call saved you, now that you are a Calvinist you were saved at the foot of the cross 2000 years ago.
You are going to go down to the level of " I am saved because I am a good person'".

I posted this thread so you would make it clear that you indeed believe you earn a place in heaven via good works. I will use this in my upcoming book "Catholic Chaos" ;-)
