I study history a lot and given the history of the Catholic church it does not surprise me at all that may have been the case.<quoted text>
Pedophilia has been going on forever.
Calling the victims names such as "sinners" will not help the cause of Catholicism. The church has already called these victims lairs also so I will take your name calling as a complement considering the source. I have to disagree with your statement that the sinners in the church brought it to the pubic eye. I believe it was the sinners that tried everything they could to keep it hidden and covered up for years. You might have read a verse in the bible"Jas_5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. " which is probably not in your catechism but you may be aware of it. It would seem to imply that prayers of a righteous man may be weightier then those that are not righteous. These priests that were involved in this, how could they possibly forgive sins or their prayers not be hindered? Have a lot of Catholics gone to confession thinking they were forgiven and yet still carrying their sins around? I think most would consider those that brought this into the public eye as victims and not sinners. The sinners may be Catholics who thought that these sinner priests were forgiving their sins. They may still have them. And that could be a lot of Catholics. Demand a refund.<quoted text>The sinners in the Church brought it to the public eye.
