In close contact with Baptists? He was a Baptist. The CofC denomination does not predate Alexander Campbell anywhere but the KJV New Testament certainly does. Campbell's motto: where the Bible speaks, we speak; where the Bible is silent, we are silent; where the New Testament has words we don't like we change or leave them out. Your comment about rural areas and worship spaces is quite naive. Episcopal, Presbyterian, Methodist and Lutheran churches were built across the rural South and didn't look a thing like a Baptist church inside. Let's for a moment overlook that so what is today's excuse for the CofC to look just like a Baptist church inside and even follow the same order of worship as do Baptists? Campbell not only published his own New Testament but also a paper called "The Christian Baptist!"
Scottish Presbyterian not Baptist. As for "worship spaces", going on personal experience in this part of KY. Presbyterian and Methodist churches here look like everyone else. There's not enough Episcopalians, Lutherans or Presbyterians for that matter to have even maintain congregations here.

Why do coc and baptist look similar? They're the Hatfield and McCoys of the religious community. Feuding and kissing cousins.

I make living at my seclar job. That is Slick's job.

I don't hate one person who is not Catholic. I don't like people that lie about what the Church Jesus started and think only they can determine what the Bible teaches when their whole 'belief' system is made up by your imagination and is only 200 years ago.

My family excepts kids and grandkids are all protestant and I love them dearly.

They don't lie about the Church Jesus started, at least to me.

I live in Baptist country.

COC are like 'what is a COC around here.

From everything I have read, Campbell, like Barton Stone, was indeed a Presbyterian but became a Baptist in 1812. So in your part of Kentucky Presbyterian and Methodist churches look like everyone else? Of course they do outside but it's the inside that counts. Fonts, not water tanks, are found inside Presbyterian and Methodist churches and the floor plans tend to be apsidal. But I'm guessing all you Kentuckians need a special place to keep the snakes.

Now you've switched from the Bible Church cult to another cult so soon? Seriously, I think you need to be evaluated for early onset dementia.

KJ I guess you have forgotten the Nicene Creed begins CREDO...I BELIEVE not I pledge.
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag does not begin I believe...it begins I PLEDGE.
Where do you get these ideas?
Go and read it. It is just like the kids in who Pledge every morning to the nation. Still waiting for the answer on King James Version, and your answer to the Good News. I think you just might have no clue on what I am asking. Why? If some one ask me, I would be proud to let the person know and why. Again this is so like Catholic. Deep inside you, has a Catholic, you really are convince that If you are not a Catholic we are condemn to hell no matter what we do in this life. I am sorry to break the news to you, this is not what the Good News says.

"Hate" is such an over used word. I prefer "despise." LOL

It's clear to me and has been for years that low end prots despise Roman Catholicism and quite a few do indeed make their living from preaching against it when they're not ranting and raving against each other. Has anyone ever heard a Catholic priest preach against the CofC or Baptists or Pentecostals? No. But I've heard plenty of CofC, Baptists and Pentecostals preach and say horrible things about each other and about the Catholic Church.

You have proven only one thing, anyone who is not your catholic brother is your enemy. You could just move to Rome.

Do we lie when we say that the pope is not found in scripture and that scripture says nothing about worshiping mary etc?

If you don't hate protestant, I sure can't see it from your words. Maybe the catholic priest leave their dirty work for their underlings.

I repeat the Nicene Creed is not a pledge. The fourth century Nicene Creed gives us a list of what we believe as Christians. It is at once poetic, awe inspiring and infallible. I cannot imagine why or how you think it's a pledge.

With a click or two you can find out everything you could possibly want to know about the KJV even the year the word version came to be attached to it. I have no interest in the KJV other than its literary qualities and can't imagine how some church folk read and understand it today when so many can't even read a newspaper or cursive writing.

Why don't you give us your definition of the Good News? I'm thinking neither you nor I could ever come close to the succinct and perfect words of the Nicene Creed.

Indoor baptismal pools are not common here. Most still prefer to go to the creek. The Presbyterian church I am most familiar with is no different from any holiness church I have been in. Typical seating, altar in the front, preaching center stage.

As for the snakes, usually some guy drives to Tennessee to bring them up here :) But really, West Virginia and Tennessee seems to be snake handling territory. Died out here, thank goodness.

Why so bitter? Why ask such a stupid question? I would like to visit Rome, particularly the Catacombs to see if I can find a CofC or Bible Church in those ancient tunnels and caves.

Yes. You are lying that. Jesus built the Church on Peter and the CC does not worship Mary.

I agree with Mark. I have never in the many years I have been a Catholic and the hundreds of Churches I have attended throughout the country heard a Priest say 1 bad word about a Protestant.
Church.

Why? We go there to Worship God.

Your assemblies are not worship. It is one man motivational speech to keep his members to keep them in attendance.

As a low end Prot, it was a regular occurrence for Pastors to go after the CC. Why, Ignorance and to keep butts in the pews.

Font in that Presby church must have been stuck away in a corner. Just kidding about the snakes. I know WV is the world wide headquarters of snake handling. Only good thing Lincoln ever did was separating WV from VA!

Then if you have no no interest, then you are not willing to learn what the bible translation of certain words have been mistranslated, and certain verses mistranslated. EX: Angel came to annouced the birth of Christ, we are taught that the angel said, "peace on earth good will toward men. In the original Hebrew/Arabic language, the angels said, "Peace on earth to men of good will" this is a big difference. Base by what you been saying to some folks here, you have no clue what the Good News is. But I forgot, You go by what the CC says it is, not what Jesus say's it is. The nicence Creed was an Oath to the CC to remain loyal to all the teaching of the CC and that what the CC says here, over rides what was in the past.

If you don't worshipped Mary, why is she called the Mother of God./ I thought that the earth been around for quite a few billions years by the time Mary was born. She is the mother of the HUMAN Jesus, the anounted one. Why do we pray to Mary in the Rosary beads while the bible says pray to only the father or Jesus. Why is it on May 15 of every year in Fatima a huge celebration and adoration take place toward Mary.

It would be nice if you could admit that those catholic teachings are not found in scripture. Instead you attack the messenger-as usual.
