The radical hyper-con sect of Johnny Robertson have given up. No longer are they willing to defend their positions on Toxix nor refute those speaking against their teaching. After many months of trying to answer those on Topix the COC have realized they cannot refute the arguments made here. Mark M. from Johnny’s sect in Danville repeatedly tried to answer but gave up once he wasn’t able to defend his position on David. And where is James Oilfield…hmm. And Johnny’s son? And the other men Johnny trained? They all claim they can answer but why are they in hiding? The reason is because they do not benefit by coming on here. See, they can’t come one here and spin things like they can on their TV shows. It’s no fun for them if they can’t show their supporters how they are “defeating and destroying” other believers in Jesus.

Well you have to understand that unless it makes for good tv to show the contributors it's not worth their time.

To bad I was looking forward to learning CoC math in order to count to ten to make David the 10th generation.

Or how Jesus could lie to the woman at the well about having 5 husbands since John teaches otherwise.

Or how Paul must have been wrong about allowing the potentially unsaved to judge themselves to not be in the faith, since John and company say you can allow unsaved people to judge themselves in that matter of the Lord's Supper thus they refuse to serve it to them, even though there is no example of that taking place.

Then there is the matter of them defending the refusal practice of the Lord's supper with passages that show people who are removed from the body over sin, while at the same time allowing that same person to sit in the services.

So much for the claim to follow pattern of the 1st century Church, that lie has been forever exposed!

Oh I left one out, how such Godly and talented men could retain total power over their congregations and not be able to teach their men enough Bible in order for them to become elders.

They claim to have complete understanding of the word, but they have no ability to teach their congregations well enough to produce elders????

Hmmmmmm.......

They're not gone. the cocinos are regrouping. Before long one will start a thread about how some denomination or another is condemned. As a wise general, when losing the battle, the best thing to do is retreat, regroup, and then come back with ferocity.

No a wise general avoids a fight he can not win! ;)

The militant hyper-con sect of Johnny just can't win here because it's a level playing field-fair & balanced. This doesn't suit Johnny because he needs trickery, deception & strongman tactics to give an outward appearance of his righteousness & everyone elses "wrongness". I think any ministry that sets out to "defeat-destroy"(Joh nny's mission statement) Christians is doomed to fail.
I think PoeGate has destroyed the last shred of any legitamacy of Johnny's ministry. Heath & whoever else is pouring money in to support Johnny's hyper-con "gospel" is just throwing money down a rathole.
Micah using the Bible to defend Eric & Scott's deception at Mercy Crossing just shows the hypocrisy of them pointing fingers at anothers error yet justifying their own...what a hyper-con!

And James Oldfield said the other preachers were running from the truth last night.LOL, I couldn't keep from laughing at him saying someone else was running after the way they have hightailed it from topix. He did say he is on face book so he does use the computer, James like the rest must just be afraid of topix. I suppose he could get rid of his face book if he got in trouble. Topix is here to stay. No twisting and squirming, just straight forward, back it up, discussion. That is just not their cup of tea, other people have a say without their distortion.

One thing you do have to give Johnny credit for is he did not automatically back it. He said he could not defend what they said. That is not the slamming that would have happened if it were two Baptist that did it but at least he didn't go further and tell more lies to cover it up like some did. I think either Johnny is sick or this scandal has them ashamed to come on live, don't know which.

If johnny did say that then yes, it should be credited to him for not defending what was done. Also, it what micah said about the two pulling over and repenting for what they had done is true, I see no reason to villify them. They sinned. They were forgiven. Just like the rest of us on that part. My only real issue is with the situation at this point is anyone trying to justify what was done and deny that it was in fact wrong.

PoeGate proved for everyone that Johnny and HEATH and their Church Of Christ is false. Christ's true church can not be built on lies and that is what the COC did!!!!

I will give Johnny credit for not defending what they said. But if you "don't defend" something does that mean you are against it? Isn't that a kind of middle of the road tolerant position? Was Paul tolerant of deception?...
*Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.2Corinthians 4:2

But Micah defended Scott & Eric's deception when he said...
"We have done nothing wrong, we have obeyed Bible principles."
"We were being completely honest with Mr. Poe"

And did Eric really repent when he said this...
"I don't feel that we have done anything wrong and if I have just pray for me and I will do the same."

Topix is a level playing field but Johnny still has the open air lines. I'm sure it won't be long before he is on TV on the phone with his buddy Charles Roark painting the picture the way he and Roark do best. No doubt he will be calling everyone here his favorite names such as crazy, sinners, adding everyone is definitely going to hell. And the few callers he has will be joining in. LOL.
I wonder if the callers he has are actually members of his church. Don't it seem to make sense that if they are not members they are just people that Johnny and his gang believe are going to hell. If they agree on anything Johnny and the other COC preachers say then they embrace them completely even though if they are not members of the COC they are sinners in COC's book.

don't forget there are some good Churches of Christ full of Christians just like everybody else. Then there are the COCINO (church of Christ in name only) who go around spreading hate and discontent

My experience has been that you can apply this statement to just about any denomination/congregation/etc.

I have to admit that I have found great relief in learning that Paden and Robertson are NOT representative of the [Cc]hurch of Christ.

Thanks!

And one thing you should realize is that there is a possibility that this was done on purpose in order to temp you to call in and taunt them.

Baiting the hook so to speak since they obviously can not win in a forum debate.

It's like the kid who gets tired of losing the basketball game. Easiest solution, take the ball and go home.

some time we should all call in and when we get on the air just say, go to topix.com to see the real debate

Do they have that "7 second delay" thing in place?

That would really be funny to watch them hitting the button to keep it from airing.

You'll be able to tell when you call in. Make a little small talk and listen for your voice from the TV. If there is a delay, you need to chit chat with them until they're comfortable and then spring it on 'em.

or we could all chip in and run an advertisment on the show that said visit topix for the rest of the story. Or get Jackie Poe to sponsor the show so they'd have to show his name in the credits.

Yeah the test is to call in with the tv on, and see if you hear yourself live, or if it is time delayed. If it's live, there is no button to push.
