If you go to Channel 10's forum you will read more about this story. It has been said that she was pregnant with twins and that she was pregnant atleast one other time and then was suddenly not pregnant but - no baby. I believe I read one post on the forum that said she had been pregnant 4 times. Of course I don't know the woman and don't know how true any of the posts are.

From the Tribune Star website:

The three counts represent “alternative mental states,” he said. Wheeler would be convicted of first-degree murder if the jury found her guilty of any of the three counts.

Count 1 alleges she intended to kill the baby; Count 2 alleges she knowingly killed the baby; and Count 3 alleges she committed acts under circumstances she knew would create a strong likelihood of death.

The three counts represent three different ways of charging Wheeler with first-degree murder and increase the likelihood of her conviction, Parkinson said.

Definately a sick woman!

The laws make it very simple and easy to give up a newborn if you cannot or don't want to raise it yourself. You don't have to dump it out like yesterday's trash!

Everyone bitches about that Garven guy. What this girl did was just as bad.

and you think God made her hold that innocent baby under the water until he died?

I agree that things happen for a reason, and the reason here is that this poor girl needs some serious mental help.

you also need to understand that nothing stops a "good person" from turning evil

i am sure she didnt dump it like yesterdays trash. i agree with "a friend" keep her in your prayers. because im sure none of you know the real story like every1 else. so instead of getting on here all day go out and do something else productive instead of putting Cayla down when noone knows her and realizes how sweet she is to every sole she meets.

Why are people defending what Cayla did? Cayla may have been sweet, but sweet people don't lie and deliberately hurt those who love them. She killed an innocent baby and took away someone's son, grandson, cousin, and nephew. She also burned down a home that held more memories to a family than anyone could possibly comprehend. She deserves to be put in jail for the rest of her life. Yes, I agree that she needs help, but she was offered help and turned it down. Some people may not know the whole story, but I do.

The people who are defending Cayla must of not really known her...When I heard that it was Cayla I wasn't surprised at ALL in fact I think deep down I knew this day would come. She has said she was pregnant at least two other times that I know of then "lost" them. There were other stories she told that just didn't add up either. On the outside Cayla was always smiling and she was a really nice person.

From what i have heard she did get help, family and friends were there for her. "Cardinals" how can you know the whole story if the family does not? What Cayla did was an awful thing that can not be taken back. I feel for both sides of the family and hope Eric is there for his wife that he loves.

is that all of you have already established guilt and decided that this person should be disembowelled, drawn and quartered, and burned at the stake. One of the foundations of our legal system is presumed innocence until convicted by a jury of our peers in a fair trial. Maybe she's guilty; maybe she's not. But in the interest of justice, I sincerely hope none of you morons gets called to jury duty for this trial.

Good point, Cherry! There are hundreds of people looking to adopt an infant. BTW, it's kind of nice to see that someone outside our little universe is reading these posts...

You forgot that God gave us free will. We make our own choices in life. God did NOT kill this innocent baby. Cayla, a useless excuse for a person and mother killed her baby. Nothing you can say to me can justify killing a baby after carrying him for 9 months then killing him and discarding him like trash. Cayla needs serious professional help.

Cayla "the good person" (puke), killed a baby. if not eligible for the death penalty, she should at least get LWOP. what gives me the right to judge? both my kids are breathing! no drownings, no fire, no drama.

There was one soul she obviously was not sweet to when they met... unless drowning is sweet.
It is PRODUCTIVE, in my book, to let people know drowning your baby is heinous, shameful, and disgusting. Perhaps someone else in Cayla's situation will look at other options... those that truly good people choose.

What I still don't understand, not only how did she give birth alone and do all that stuff, but how did she go 7 days without anyone noticing that she wasn't pregnant anymore. Surely her husband noticed...her mom...a friend...another family member...someone??? Why did no one seem to wonder were the baby went for a week when the fire happened? Why was it that the athorities were alarmed when THEY noticed she wasn't pregnant and didn't have a baby, but no one else around her did. They obviously didn't buy any explainations they were given because they looked anyway...and it's a good thing they did!

Yes, I went to school with her, but I didn't know her well. I knew her family and they are all good people. I truly think there is something very wrong with her and I hope her and her family gets the help they need to get through this. Not only does she need help though, she needs to own up to what's happened and suffer the consequences if she is indeed guilty. This is a sad sad story that just completely breaks my heart.

Cayla may at some point have been a sweet person, but your right good people know right from wrong. She had many other options than the horrible one she took. I guess mental issues can do that, i don't know from experience, but it's been known to happen before. At what point do you realize you made a horrible mistake though? Even so long after the baby dies, there is still no emotion.

I could see where the husband would "feed her to the wolves". After all, this was his child (or children, whatever the case may be). I'm sure he is hurt and angry and probably has every right to be. On the other hand, how on earth could you live with someone and not know you are missing a baby??? I don't understand. Gullible? Stupid?? Turning the other cheek? Who knows?

That's what I've been wondering all along... She gave birth at home, drowned the baby, buried it... all by herself? No one knew? I think there is A LOT more to the story then what is being let out!
And I am SO sickened to read "she is so sweet" or "always had a smile on her face" etc.... hey, why don't you let this sweet person watch your children for a few weeks...

Daily Horoscope for December 7

Aquarius

You're full of energy and determination right now, especially when it comes to nailing an ambition or making a name for yourself. You'll want to give it your best shot, and you'll get very annoyed if you feel your efforts are being frustrated by others. Watch out for a rather tense atmosphere with someone older or more influential than you, as this could lead to a row.
