Police in Ohio are puzzled by a burglar who they say broke into a convenience store and took nothing but an empty gumball machine.

Heck, this guy shoud find a good lawyer and sue the gumball machine owner for not having any gumballs in it and no money as well. Any thief should expect to get something worthwhile for his efforts.

My guess is that the gumball machine belonged to the thief who sold it to the store owner and the store owner stiffed him on payment and so he is stealing it back.

I did that with my basketball once. We were at a playground and had more than one ball. So my ball was laying there and someone stole it. About 1 month later, some kids were playing a game there and my ball was lying there and I stole it back.

Obviously, this heist was planned in advance. By the time they figured out that the machine had not been filled, it was too late to change plans. Now, they will have to lay low until the heat is off.
