Belmont County to Hold Elections

I just wanted to find out about The election for Belmont County Sherrif. I see Don Nippert is running Lets all hope he gets it. There is no better man for the job in my opinion.

Anyone that would vote for Nippert needs to take a long hard look at the people he surrounds himself with. Those campaigning for him are some of the biggest problems this county has in law enforcement. So if you want corruption Vote for him. Me personally I'm voting for Thomson.

I do know people campaigning for all the sheriff candidates and personally, the only one that has honest, trustworthy people around them is Don Nippert. The illegal issues in this campaign surround the other candidates and as a life long Belmont Co resident I would only vote for Nippert. The others should take a good look in the mirror and ask for forgiveness for things they've done. Check in with courthouse people and the media. Also,Mr. Warnock Sheriff Election Concern should know who his sheriff is, It's THOMPSON, not THOMSON.

How much money can we afford, as taxpayers, for the acts of Fred Thompson? The guy has no idea how to run a department, a budget or how to actually investigate a criminal act. Dave Lucas has cost this county in excess of 100,000 because he was stalking a former court reporter and putting a laser sight on her chest, causing her to flee to another state, after she got paid from Belmont County. How bout the excessive force ... shotgun but to the head?? Nippert does not seem to be surrounded by " trouble", it's just the other two have no help or support at all... waaaaa.

I would like to express my concern for the Belmont County Sheriff election. I have been privileged enough to know Don Nippert for the majority of my life and take offense to the accusations suggesting he has surrounded himself with "trouble." I know numerous individuals who assist with his campaign and can vouch for their concern for the people of the county. These men truly desire to see change for the people of the county and not themselves. It is clear that the remarks of some individuals on this page are uninformed and highly mistaken and have led to the type of corruption that occurs in the Sheriff's Office today. This is the type of corruption that Don Nippert wishes to abolish and start to change Belmont County for the better.

If you have any concern at all for drugs in Belmont County ask yourself where have all the drug arrests gone since Don Nippert has not been at the Sheriff's Office. I think we all can see that neither of the other two candidates have any concern for our future or our children's when it comes to making drug arrests and tackling the tough issues. Make your choice wisely.....

I hope that before everyone considers voting for the next sheriff for Belmont County that they take a good look at the people who are running and see just what they plan to do when they are elected. I believe there are too many people in Belmont County that are voting for a certain candidate just because of a few promises that have been made or money that has been flashed around. Elections should be about the person and what they will do when they are elected! I also think that if you knew the kind of man Don Nippert is and what he does for the elderly, the youth, and the community you would not be able to deny the fact that he would be the best choice for our county! He will get things done and be honest and trustworthy! Don Nippert is not just a man who holds himself accountable among men but God as well.

I like dave, he is always over at my house and seems to really enjoy helping my wife when I am out of town, what a guy. He even helps out my daughter when she needs a ride to places, what a fellow.

Can you show the court documents about this payoff you accuse Dave Lucas of costing the county?? Is Dave the one out of the Sheriff's office on a paid mental leave. If all you can do is point fingers at others to make yourself look good Mr.Nippert, you need to get documentation!!
People with problems mask their own issues by creating issues of others. Grow up, Tell people what you have done yourself that makes you better than your opponent's.

you can find the funds going out but as always the actual settlement has a non disclosure clause. Ask the county prosecutor if it was not in his lap, ask Mr Lucas why he continues to say he remained in the courthouse until he retired, when everyone knows he was yanked out of that courthouse and reassigned to a newly created position away from there. These are questions, ask and see what you get, ask Judge Sargus.

Again, do you have the proof?? My comment referred to what positive things has Mr. Nippert done, what positive things has he to say?? Rambling about Mr. Thompson, and Mr. Lucas seems to be the biggest issue. I can't believe you are all police officers, and talk so much smack on each other. I am glad I live in another county, I would be afraid of getting my back stabbed for a election.

Instead of asking for proof from anyone here, Why don't you just ask mr. Lucas. I'm sure he will tell you the truth. The fact is Nobody needs to be playing dirty here. Actions have spoken loudly about everyone involved and all who have commented know the truth. you want proof.....please go to the belmont county commissioners minutes for january 2006. go to page 4. and read..... itt will show that unemployment payments WERE made to Miss Day.Also go to the pros. office to see his reply as to the investigation.

Having worked with all of the parties involved for an extended period of time, I cannot believe anyone would even consider voting for another four years of the ineptitude of Fred Thompson, who cannot find his rear with both hands in a lighted room, or for Nippert, who wants the office to seek revenge on a number of people for what Nippert perceives as wrongs committed against him. Nippert is getting psychiatric disability benefits for a reason, people. And my question is, if he's disabled, then why is he able to run a campaign for a public office? If he's well enough to campaign, he's well enough to work at a "real" job. And look at the people he's got working with him. Do you want law enforcement officers who get drunk at questionable establishments like Beech Hill,pick fights with other patrons and beat the daylights out of them? Get out of the personalities of the candidates and take a look at their actions. They speak much louder than any of their words.

Of course he likes to help out your wife when you're out of town!!!! Just like he was screwing the court reporter behind his sick wife's back, Dave Lucas is probably screwing your wife. Just pray that when your wife gives him the boot that he doesn't stalk her like he did Diane Day. Are you really stupid enough to let him near your daughter too? God help your family!
