yes, i worked at the Ritz and indeed, there was Kentwig Lanes, out off of Magazine St. and kind of across the freeway from Terry Curtola's restaurant/coffee shop...

but there was also Miracle Bowl (on Georgia st?)... which is where i also worked as a pinboy when i was in high school

miracle bowl was on tennessee, just west of amador next to the foster's freeze, all gone now, empty lot and used car corral now. national auto parts around the corner, shut down.
but we do have over two dozen weed shops, so many people needs they medicines, lol.

Masked man CB radio sales on Georgia where the tattoo shop is now...And the Ammo Box gun shop run by two nice old fellows who were alot of fun to talk to, next to Authorized bike shop.....I think it's still a bike place today......The Trading Post on Benicia road and Parisian cleaners and Zig and J body shop all in the same buildings......

you're absolutely correct... now that the appropriate neurons have been shaken up... the foster's freeze was the kicker!

Remember the Martinizing dry cleaners out on springs Rd. and Oakwood? When martinizing was the latest thing? Also Rudy's of course nearby. Long before there were any businesses otherwise out that way and old Miller Rd was still a narrow, winding road running out toward Benicia. we could ride our bikes on it then. And no houses had been built yet. I lived on Ashwood Drive and beyond that were only a few rows of houses and then rolling hills. You can see on Tennessee where it ended. Where the old post war houses end and the newer styles begin. Vallejo was such a nice, safe working man's town then. Those days are gone.

ever drive down broadway from tennessee to 37? you see people that look like they just stepped out of a walking dead shoot. all manner of bums pushing stolen shopping carts, shuffling across streets not in crosswalks, standing on corners just staring into space. this is vallejo today, where the welcome mat is always out for the downtrodden and just plain criminal.

the good times in vallejo are gone forever. the downtown is lost forever. decades of bleeding heart policy on affordable housing has delivered a city full of social misfits, slobs, bums, and ranks of criminals and parolees, in all quarters.
NOBODY elected to office, with the RARE exception of joanne schivley, has ever said NO FREAKING MORE! whenever a budget increase to the vha junta is brought to council, nor will they ever.
the last three councils during and since bankruptcy all said YES, repeatedly, to more funds going to vha junta. this council just a couple of months ago said YES to 25mil increase to vha junta budget.
now i ask you, what freaking difference does it make who is on council, pro-labor, anti-gob, faith friendly, lbgt ally, whatever, every freaking one keeps saying YES to expanding programs that work against quality of life issues.
that's why i advocate for people just to give up and say "funk it!"
throw your hands up!
