Stephanie Gomes couldn't wait to leave the City Council Meeting to go before the news cameras to respond to the need for more police.

Her statement was "we hope to get concessions".

This mad woman has played with our safety far too long.

She and fellow Council Member Marti Brown are more concerned with spending money from a sales tax increase they were against, on cosmetic improvements to Vallejo that will go un noticed because no one wants to come here due to the lack of public safety.

This waste of money could be usd to hire additional police.

Gomes is hoping the police will take a 20% pay and benefits cut. The chnces of that occurring are as slim as Tony Pearsall achieving an erection without Viagra.

The possibility pf the VIB majority Council imposing a contract on the police looms very large and this has caused even more seasoned professionals to consider retiring.

With hardly any experienced officers willing to apply to work here we are caught in a public safety catch 22 which can only be averted through a change in the Council membership and majority.

The voters have had more than 8b years of VIB obstructionist politics. It's time to take our city back through our votes.

Remember this on Election Day.

This won't go on too much longer. In fact, what happens with the police contract negotiations will decide the election and clean out the VIB carpetbaggers.

Maybe if you would stop making up your version of the facts, you would have an ounce of credibilty. There was no post council interview. The news crew was called by the little league people on advise of our very own officer Steve Darden. As with other pd employees, they tell the pybluc to go down to the council meetings and cry fear and demand more police. The couch admitted this on camera. The interview was prior to the council meeting Sam. If you had been there you'd know that. I'm sure the facts have little to do with your misinformed tirades. The little league coach apparently left off the fact that it was a parent from his team that did the shooting. So how would having more patrols have stopped one of his team parents from acting a fool? Yeah, it wouldn't have. You're a liar and a fabricator of the facts. Please hurry and pack your two brown bags with your worldly possessions and leave our town.

Every last inept member of that council, including the mayor, could not successfully run a taco truck. Look around at the fruits of their labor. We are drowning in trash, noise, crime and unusable schools. We should do the opposite of whatever action they propose. The complete opposite. Then maybe we'd see some improvement.

Gomes is still hawking that cheaper police equals more police line. Hope she gets concessions? Wouldn't an imposed contract give her that? More and more citizens are rising up to protest the crime and violence. It is bound to get worse before the November elections, and voters will come for incumbent Brown. Incumbents always pay when the community is outraged, and they are now.

fact is recruiting is not going well due to the big mouthing of stephanie gomes and threats of imposed contract that the police will not like. begging the question, if gomes and friends will impose concessions, why wait on a fast track effort to hire more police?

There is no binding arbitration and there is no ability to strike, why act concerned over concessions? The ball is out of PS's court. Do what you want to do and see what happens. I thought life would be fixed once the Gomers had all the pieces to the puzzle? Is there still something missing? Neighborhood watch groups abound? Vegetable gardens are about to be everywhere. The single block in front of the Empress and Artist Lofts is redesigned and almost finished. Other than an occassional shooting in neighborhoods, only Garmin goes to to shoot yellow journalistic footage, that the Gomers do not live in there are no more real problems.

The problem is that there has NOT been an abundant response to recruiting efforts, despite years of hearing that thousands would apply because of the generous contract. Now Gomes and friends are hoping for concessions that will inspire applicants? I thought they were going to impose the affordable contract that will lead to more police? That was the idea, right, give council the ability to hire more police by removing Binding Arb? That woman talks in circles.
