What exactly does We Care do? I need help with money for bills because I don't have money for rent this month. Do they help with that kind of thing?

Yes they help with bills. Most of the time you have to do volunteer work there to work off what they help you with.

BEST?

They belittle people who are in there and treat them like animals. They're rude, close-minded and don't care about their job. They're hardly open and act very impatient when spoken to. I know some of the people who go up there aren't the brightest in the box, but that's no reason to be short with everyone who goes up there.

Your user name chows your ignorance. They are a non profit business that's why they are not there all the time. Mist all of their time is donated. Their purpose is to help those having a hard time. So yes I am sure they get frustrated with all the lazy freeloaders that thinks they are owed something. There are people who use their service the way it's meant...one time to help thru a bad time. But most of the lazy people that go in there are the ones trying to get everything for nothing. GET A JOB

Why is it that everyone from this area always jumps on the, "Get a job" bandwagon. They assume that because you don't drive a Lexus, wear an armani suit, live in pleasant valley and have a tan that you don't have a career. I'm here to let you know that just because you don't dress the part doesn't mean you don't have money or class.
If these people are up there giving their "precious" time they should respect every person that comes through their doors. They're a small step in the wrong direction for a lawsuit.
The non-profit angle doesn't earn them the right to disrespect people and parade around like they're hot shit. If they're up there to help that should stretch past shoving a card full of expired food out in a wobbly cart. They should great every person that comes in with a, "Good morning! How are you doing today?" I get more respect from the greeter at Walmart than 90% of the people up there.
You don't like my name on here? Let me change it to something a bit more up your alley.

Sounds like pimp Daddy aka Mr Driest is a low life nonworking mooching slob haha Not every one that walks into We Care is a low life like you Some are people that have fallen on hard times teenage parents elderly and even people with money looking for a bargain I thing the above person was referring to the ones that sit at home waiting on goverment checks rather than out looking for jobs then they show up at We Care expecting hand outs because the world has been so unfair to them How many people that walk thru that door walk in with a smile and an offer to pay it forward by volunteering their time to help others in exchange for help from We Care??? Very few! Most walk in with your attitude of these snobby bitches that work here better not piss me off!! Many of the people that volunteer their have been on the other end of the spectrum and know what its like They are now doing for others because someone helped them!!! The excuse of there are NO JOBS around does not fly There are jobs maybe not making 20 an hour or doing what you want but there are jobs

We care is ridiculous. I went there for help one day and left in tears. I didn't go there to get belittled or made to feel llike a failure but that's what they did. I think it's wonderful that they donate their time, but that's just it, it's a donation and if they don't like being there they shouldn't be there. Don't make someone looking for help feel like shit because they had the courage to ask for help. I told them to shove their help way high up in their asses so they'll have something to hold on to at night. The way they treat people is horrendous and they all need sensitivity training!

You are 100% right! I can't stand those condescending bitches, especially 'the head Bitch in charge'! Beside that, you might as well shop at Walmart, the prices are almost identical. I can only go there once or twice every couple months, Goodwill store is much better.

I believe it's like anywhere else. Some good, some not so good. Sometimes it only takes a facial expression or simple shake of the head to belittle a person. Wee Care is a good place doing lots of good things. It is very obvious that some of the people there don't want to be there. Whether you volunteer or are a paid employee, your attitude means everything to the person coming in for help. There is a way of saying no without making the person feel even worse. It's like kicking someone when they are already down. I know that some people abuse help but there is absolutely no reason to treat anyone less then decent. Yes, I have seen this. I say there still is mostly good at Wee Care though.

WeCare is a great place in our community! They offer bargain prices for everyone and help the people that need help with the profit. If you want to help the community it is a good place to donate anything you don't need anymore! I have never felt belittled by shopping there, it is for everyone!

It is a good place. These people are talking about when you walk in to get assistance.

I'm talking about the store, period. They have a superior attitude, it doesn't matter if it's for assistance or shopping in the store. These women have that holier than thou attitude, especially toward people of color. I have experienced it firsthand.

I agree with you Queenie on all but the color comment. It's not about color as I have also seen this firsthand. Some of these women are burned out and may not realize how they are coming across. The last thing people want is to go in there for help, but then come out feeling worse then they did going in. Hopefully they will get it together. They may not know that they are doing more harm then good in some cases.

I have no doubt that you have experienced rudeness there. I am white and have experienced rudeness. Unless they came out and said we are not helping you because you are black (which is doubtful) they treat everyone the same. I am sorry that you feel that way though. I tied to find a reason why I was treated in a bad way but came up empty. I think I'll go volunteer there so I can quit complaining and help fix the problem. There are some wonderful people there. Sending with love.

They will NEVER say that to anyone's face, but actions speak louder than words! So you're going to volunteer so you can quit complaining &help fix the problem, that's great....for you. I'm not complaining, just stating MY experience with We Care. There are some nice people who work there but there's also some bad apples and that's true everywhere.Good luck to you!
