Restaurants are saying they will add the additional fee to your bill to cover obamacare in addition to laying off a percentage of full time workers. Does anybody think the government can run health care? Today the US post office just reported another BIG loss. Can't wait to see what they do to health care. This country is going to get a reality check.

Well the people that the general population elected the people who passed the bill (I was only old enough this year to vote, and trust me, Obama screwed my family over with his tricare changes. I would never vote for him). It's sad to say but thanks to Obama care, (by the way what an ego to name a plan after yourself) everyone is going to suffer in some way. Walmart is apparently lowering hours, which is bad for the consumer but they have no choice because full time is now at 30 hours instead of 40.

I think some folks out there are thinking the government is going to pay for obamacare -- They have forgotten we are the government. We are going to be paying for the governments new biggest business. There are alot of companys out there thats going to do what walmart is doing and that is making most employees part-time.Yes restaurants along with others businesses just cannot absorb a big hit like this and we can't either.

Stop bitching and look at the bright side. Job sharing will significantly reduce unemployment. Reducing labor costs by eliminating benefits will help corporations turn record profits, and all the baby-boomer retirees will watch the values of their retirement portfolios inflate like a helium balloon.

The days of happy motoring and eating out all the time are behind us. Anyone who's been in business any length of time sees the decline. Right wing trogs like Denny's POS will never admit we're in decline because of rising energy costs, accumulated environmental damage, and the wasteful systems (transportation, sewage disposal, education, industrial agriculture, criminal justice, you name it, it's f'd up) we've implemented coming to a crashing halt without continual subsidy. They would much rather blame the black guy. But they know damn well that business isn't what it used to be, and they're starting to realize that while it might tick up for awhile, it's not ever coming back. They are making their escape plans and it will be very convenient to blame ACA when they shutter their stores and scurry off to their off shore tax havens. One last FU to the working folks who will have to stay here and work it out.
Our non-negotiable way of life is starting to slip behind us. Even most of the elected Dems won't admit this. Progressives are asking for fairer taxes and military cuts so that we can invest in prosperity. The reality is that we'll be trying to claw back enough of the loot the 0.01% have absconded with so as to avoid total collapse. and it may already be too late. Occupy Sandy is the model we'll be needing to emulate all over the country.

Walmart, one of the richest corporations in the world, refuses to pay its employees a livable wage or provide any form of decent healthcare, increasing reliance on government assistance, and the need for a social safety net.
That forces us...the tax payers to take up the slack for their corporate greed!
80% of Wal Mart employees are forced to rely on food stamps that we all pay for!

Yes, Walmart gives them a handout referring them to the local food stamp and Medicaid offices; when they go through orientation for hire.

They shift the cost to the consumer as always and roll in the dough. Many think they are saving money by shopping there but in the long run, they are simply deferring the cost through another agency.

I wonder if that's the speech the Walton Family, Steve Jobs and Bill Gates gave to their slave girls in China that made them ALL billionaires. You Repubs just don't get it. Henry Ford gave his employees a 500% raise. He was called a Socialist and a Communist for doing it. A reported ask Ford why he did it. His reply was, they are my customers. The top have gained 387% in income over the past 20 years. The middle class that WORKS for them have gained 18%. Will these numbers ever sink in to your Repubs brain? Millionaire and Billionaire CEOs have closed 27,000 American factories in the past 20 years. Laying off 5.5 million workers. Will these numbers EVER be understood by you Repubs?

???Noticed you didn't address the thread but you do like saying the word "repubs".The government hasn't been able to run a successful program including the post office for the last 100 years and now with 17 trillion $$$ debt is going to run obamacare? Seriously? The only way any of us are going to be able to afford obamacare is for Henry Ford to come back to life and give us all a 500% increase in pay.Good luck with that.

If you don't like Walmart, don't buy there. If you want American-made products, google "American made". If you don't like Ford, buy a Toyota. Really! Don't be a hypocrit! Do it!

If you don't like government, all you can do is buy Vaseline because your vote doesn't mean anything anymore.

walmart employees knew their pay and benefits before they took the job. if they didn't like it, they were free to turn down the job and look for other work.

Please google and read about the bangladish garment factory fire. These people made clothes for Walmart and sears. These were 112 people that burn up. They were told not to worry about the fire alarm just sit there and keep working. There were no fire exits. These people work for 31 dollars a month. Walmart can't afford health insurance that have to pay the wages for the rest of the workers that survived. 31 dollars a month!!!!!!!!

Even if I don't buy at Wal Mart...my tax money still goes to Wal Mart employees because of their employer's corporate greed.

We the government is trying to change it. It is called obamacare. Walmart is going to get some rule changes they need to cope with it, and the rest of the United States.

Okay, restraints don't make enough to cover much. Obama care (by the way, how self centered do you have to be to name a bill after yourself, I mean come on) are going to cost small businesses, and passing it on is just a big f-you to Obama. Then again, he doesn't really care about the middle class like he says. Just wait until your tax rate goes up when the ones earning $250,000 in the country get out because they are being charged almost 50%. The difference is they can afford to move. Hence, you don't overcharge the rich they will leave.
