How do they stay in business? The service is the worst!!!!!

I am not too sure how they stay in business. Poor management is their biggest problem. New owners coming early '13 or so I hear. If they have any sense, they'll rid themselves of most of the employees and start over. There are a few good ones, though. Anyone with half a brain could turn that place around within a month. I am pretty sure the present owners just don't care. I'd even go out on a limb and say that they don't know how to run a restaurant. There is so much potential with that place. What a waste!

I found the franchise owner in the archives online in the Weakley County Press. Don't remember the name but you can look it up.

We were going to eat there Tuesday nite bout 9:35. A note on the door said the new hours were 6am to 10pm therefore the business was still open. Wrong! Before we could get seated the girl told us they were closed. I mentioned the note on the door and she said that was the new hours. There was nothing on the door saying they were closed. I told her it was just 9:35 and she stated the grill was already turned off. I said, so you are turning away two hungry customers and three orders to go? Yes, she replied. I asked for the night manager and was told there wasn't one! So off we go. After sitting at that red light by Huddle House nearly 6 minutes before it changed, we headed to Wendy's. Wendy's dining room closes at 10. It's close to 10 now. We had two delicious meals and alot of laughs thanks to Huddle House. And we won't be going back to Huddle House in Martin either. Best of luck to the rest of you that do.

It sounds like HH is not going to be around much longer. You can't run a business like they do and survive.

Sammie Linton and his sister were the owners of it when it first opened up. I am assuming they still own it.

Unfortunate that this place is getting such a bad reputation - especially in a college town

Huddle House is now closing 3rd shift because of the UTM kids being out for Christmas break. As long as you got there by 10, you should've been served. It sounds to me like the employees who were there jumped the gun by shutting down the grill too early. Those employees and managers are damaging the restaurants reputation by their lack of professionalism. I would suggest calling up there to speak with the management, but I doubt it would do any good. They're all just kids/college students and this is not a career for them, it's just a paycheck! They truly don't care! Sorry that happened to you, but thanks for sharing. You just saved some a whole lot of time! Merry Christmas!

My husband and I frequent HH Sunday's after church. Come on folks - it's Huddle House, not a five-star restaurant! The service and food have always been up to par for what we expect.

The last two times we've been there, about 11 am on Sunday, we literally waited forever with one server trying to make up for the other bad servers. The server was bringing things out little bit by little bit to others who had waited forever. There were a number of mad people. I got the cheeseburger and then had to wait for the condiments and it was literally about 3" wide and 1/8" thick with no condiments and this was supposed to be their delicious burger! Saw one person get their waffles but have to wait for their syrup. We've been 2 or 3 times before that and the service wasn't quite as bad but still very bad. Sounds like they only have one grill person trying to keep up and bad servers.

Last time I was at HH it was a long wait because there was only one cook on duty. Lots of empty messy tables, too.
