Perhaps you people need to pay heed to "For Real" and "YingYang1434". If you can not follow the rules, provide the customer service the customers deserve, then seek employment elsewhere. You do all this complaining, yet your sorry butts will be here next week with your hands out looking for a paycheck from Sodexo. My suggestions to the five of you and any others who feel this is not the place for them to work, LEAVE. Take the first Greyhound Bus, car, train, bike or skateboard and get out of Dodge. Oh yeah, you must be really brave that you cannot give your name.
hey Charles is this what you do while you are locked in your office! At least it keeps you busy and off our butts! Kudos

So are you taking me up on the offer to leave?? Then let me be the first to say Goodbye and let the door hit you in the butt on your way out.

Uh-hmmm excuse me when I say this "Charles" but can't say too much about your professionalism if you will let a public, free speaking forum get under your skin. Uh-hmmm is this reply written from home or a work computer lol? Anywho back to point. Understand pride in your job but you express your point too much on the clock. Off the clock no one wants to hear what you have to say. We are good working people who do come to work, take pride in our job, and go unnoticed by our employer. So we come here and vent and bitch about our job. So what we realize no changes will come from this. Please if u don't mind just keep your opinions to the one place I got to hear it at.
Pay it forward

What's so funny is I did quit. Even funnier is the same issues are there from when I was there. Quite happy with my current job. No boss telln me what to do who can't practice what they preach. No public humiliation from uncapable supervisors on power trips. Lol I do my job and only my job, because my current manager is a real manager quite capable of dictating properly. And best of all the one thing all employers should posess is equality. Sodexo lacks equality. So what you may hire different races but not everyone is treated equally. And even now sadly you are too narrow minded to see these are your people on this forum asking for change. Instead of making a change its easier to run these people off. Change means effort.

I used to work there and strongly recommend not to apply there. The job is awful and one of the managers, Anoush, is a complete and awful bitch

I agree with you but if you think that's bad come work in retail. I personally will not sleep with fat ugly managers for eight bucks an hour so I don't get the royal treatment. One little blonde in the food court obviously does because she is dumb as hell and by looking at her she must have a nasty habit. But she gets away with anything. Go figure

Ok from first hand knowledge Sodexo is much better now than it was years ago. Remember that this is FOOD SERVICE!, people are going to complain and whine no matter what you do. Yes it is long hours and very stressful but guess what, YOU ARE FEEDING 4000 plus people 3 times a day 7 days a week! This is not fast food either, it is a different menu every day! Also in catering can you imagine having 2 to 3 dinners in different places trying to do a ballet of service and cleaning all at once? You could be nice as can be, give a raise and put foot massagers in the break area and someone would still find something to complain about! Also don't knock a whole company because of a few new supervisors on a power trip. Any place you work for will have these, believe it!

In a job situation, everyone is accountable ... everyone signs on to do a specific job, whether you are a manager or a cook, whatever you do. Everyone agrees to a certain set of rules regardless of your position. If anyone is not complying with the workplace rules and expectations, they should be held accountable for their actions. Just as management oversees the activities of the staff, they must lead by experience and example. Many companies, Sodexo included, have ways for you to address issues with members of management without fear of retaliation. Seek out those ways to address your complaints and be prepared to back up your complaints. Remember though, when you point fingers at others, make sure that your remaining fingers aren't pointing back at you. Don't be guilty of any wrong-doings described in these postings. And, for Heaven's sake, direct your issues to those that can solve your issues ... don't air out your dirty laundry with others that are only here to compound the problems not solve them.

Good post John, but unfortunately Sodexo has placed political correctness above smart decision making.

There are persons in positions of power who would not be there if not for quotas and appearances.

Sodexo is a global company and seeks to protect its market image. Which is fine except when productivity and worker morale suffer for it.

I worked at Sodexo for nearly 10 years as a high school kid an as an undergraduate college student. Now granted, I don't work there now (and haven't for roughly 10 years), but believe me when I say that effective management has been sacrificed on the alter of political correctness.

I think all one needs to do is review the current manager's past track record. The guy seems to close more accounts than an irate bank loan officer. Of course, that may be Sodexo's plan all along...who knows.

And for the record, I enjoyed working for Sodexo.

Mike Munkel was my boss (RIP Mike) and although sometimes difficult to work for, and boy could he make you feel small, he was fair with his criticism. Similarly, a small word of encouragement from him would leave a smile on your face all day.

I worked for Anoush's predecessor, nice guy. But Anoush is an outstanding catering manager and obviously has the savy to grow that business into what it is today. If you have a problem with her, odds are it's because you suck as an employee. She expects you to work because you collect a check...don't like it? join the rest of the 15-20% of Americans on the unemployed rolls.

Companies live by following political correctness ... and companies die by doing the same! Successful companies ultimately will grow and prosper by doing the right thing. In doing so, I believe that Sodexo, being aware of a work situation as described, would investigate and remedy ... all in the name of good business for it's client and it's own reputation. "Well" ... I'm with you ... when staff morale tanks over these type of issues, productivity also bottoms out which is all the more reason to intercede.

YinYang Sounds just like management. I work with these people on a daily basis. Sodexo is one fucked up place. Management sux. i.e. Chef boyardee is smoke'n and snort'n his own blend of HERBS and spices while chasing it with a pill and a pull of liquor frequently. Tall Barney looking fellow in management does more than just invite students and coworkers into his office for a meeting. Yes.....if you sleep with management it seems you could go far. LMAO......about as far as you can go right next to mcdonald's fry cook. We won't even talk about the GM that walks around with wandering hands and implied speech to students and coworkers. I haven't even mentioned that all of the decent workers that show up everyday and put forth 110% everyday, seems to get shit on regularly. If you want a job, it might be a better idea to work at McDonald's. You still have to put up with the illegal drug use and shitty management, but there ain't no way that there is as much bullshit and drama there as there is in this hell hole the call SODEXO

well said. This place is a joke. The big fat ugly man in black that can't get an order right and his brother fired for stealing. If they started random drug tests out here right now the place would all but come to halt. People come in stoned or drunk and nothing is said but a good honest person is wrote up being a few minutes late. And cris you brag a lot but can you pass a drug test.
