What's up with Oxford St being closed for couple of weeks at intersection with Lindell? No sign of work going on....

Building inspector closed it because of wall instability on the old building that they have been remodeling the inside of on the north side of Oxford St. They don't want something to happen like in Greenfield. Will be closed until the building is deemed safe.

So unstable wall and four vibrating rock concerts next week? Sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Yes. I think you are right on the money. Although truck and car traffic haven't been a problem, I'm sure that as soon as that music starts the entire downtown area will collapse. It will probably be the worst disaster that Martin has ever seen and you can repost and say "I told you so". You will appear as if you are the Nostradamus of Weakley County. You are really too awesome to live should move before the music starts.

I am thinking Randy wants to put another park there...It would be just lie him to bild another. That is all he is good at except for wasting tax payer money...

I heard on the radio that it is being torn down. Don't know what's up with the for sale sign.

The for sale sign could be referring to the lot the building is sitting on.

I'm Surprised mayor Brundige hasn't rerouted Lindel street down the old rail right-of-way over by the tracks, restoring the old brick road surface, bulding a fabric dome supported by air pressure over the whole of downtown. It would make an awesome mall now that so many of the store fronts have been restored or improved. Why, the miniparks could be paved over with Astroturf! Imagine, no mud around the splash pad! How awesome is that! Of course, Mayor Brundige would see to it that all the landowners in the city pay the $52,781,94 price to benefit the couple dozen property owners on that stretch of Lindel.
