For nearly 15 years, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's financial portfolio has included an offshore company that remained invisible to voters as his political star rose.

Based in Bermuda, Sankaty High Yield Asset Investors Ltd. was not listed on any of Romney's state or federal financial reports. The company is among several Romney holdings that have not been fully disclosed, including one that recently posted a $1.9 million earning suggesting he could be wealthier than the nearly $250 million estimated by his campaign.

The omissions were permitted by state and federal authorities overseeing Romney's ethics filings, and he has never been cited for failing to disclose information about his money. But Romney's limited disclosures deprive the public of an accurate depiction of his wealth and a clear understanding of how his assets are handled and taxed, according to experts in private equity, tax and campaign finance law.

Sankaty was transferred to a trust owned by Romney's wife, Ann, one day before he was sworn in as Massachusetts governor in 2003, according to Bermuda records obtained by The Associated Press. The Romneys' ownership of the offshore firm did not appear on any state or federal financial reports during Romney's two presidential campaigns. Only the Romneys' 2010 tax records, released under political pressure earlier this year, confirmed their continuing control of the company

Stop asking about my tax returns! I've got absolutely nothing to hide except the following: my tax free IRA in Switzerland, Ann's tax free IRA also in Switzerland, my kids tax free trust(s) in the Cayman's, my dual incomes while at BAIN and the Olympics, my tax free severance package from BAIN, my tax free severance package from the Olympics, my reverse CDS Real Estate position holdings from the recent financial collapse, my tax free Real Estate investments in all 50 states, my reverse currency positions in the US dollar-also tax free, my charitable contributions to the Mormom church-also tax free, my federal and state tax annual refunds, my Iraqi and Afghan/US war investments-tax free

Very true. The media is owned by the ones they are reporting on. You cant believe anything they report anymore. Most people just want to be lied to anymore.
Is that why you watch Faux News? They have several hired as spokesmen on their network that also work for Mitt Romneys re-election campaign at the same time! So much for fair & balanced!

Maybe if slick willy had not signed the bill that allowed lending banks and investment banks to merge together we wouldnt have had the collapse on wall street 4 years ago. They say it takes about 10 years to feel the real results of legislation and thats how long it took.
Maybe if Bush hadn't took that 'surplus' from 'slick willy', and turned it into a deficit and bankrupt the economy, we would still be reaping the glory days of 'slick willy'! Not only would Monica be satisfied but we all would be!

REPUBLICAN HYPOCRISY..........

Speaker of the United States House of Representatives "Newt Gingrich", who was one of the people leading the impeachment proceedings against Clinton, announced he would resign from Congress as soon as he was able to find somebody to fill his vacant seat. The Republican was also accused of affairs. Gingrich fulfilled this pledge and officially resigned from congress.

Impeachment proceeding were initiated during the post-election, "lame duck" session of the outgoing 105th United States Congress. The floor debate in the whole House was spirited on both sides. The Speaker-designate, Representative "Bob Livingston", chosen by the "Republican Party Conference" to replace outgoing Speaker Newt Gingrich, announced the end of his candidacy for Speaker and his resignation from Congress from the floor of the house after his own marital infidelity came to light. In the same speech, Livingston also encouraged Clinton to resign. Clinton chose to remain in office and urged Livingston to reconsider his resignation. Many other prominent Republican members of Congress including "Dan Burton" of Indiana, "Helen Chenoweth" of Idaho, and "Henry Hyde" of Illinois, the chief House manager of Clinton's trial in the Senate had infidelities exposed around this time, as publisher Larry Flynt offered a reward for such information and many supporters of Clinton accused Republicans of hypocrisy.

You Republicans can keep defending your Republican candidate all you want. I would never vote for a man such as Romney, who hides his millions in secret overseas bank accounts. If he is such a great person then why isn't his money in the U.S.?
He wants to be President of the U.S., doesn't he? And tell him to show us his tax records! Everyone knows he's hiding something!

He has shown enough for me and enough to run for President. Also by law of our great country he has But not by the democrates because this is all they can say about the man.You know you have the same opportunites to make the same kind of money that he has and maybe you could donate 4 million dollars to charities this year too.

Just because he has money in overseas accounts doesnt mean he is a crook. He just paid less taxes on it. What he did is legal and the same thing many wealthy people do, even some democratic senators have been doing it for years. Its just a way for some people to divert attention from the real issues. Try getting away from the herd little sheep.

The media and alot of dems like issues out of nothing. Perfect example is the whole birth certificate issue. I have had to provide mine for factory jobs. So what was his problem with showing his. I think that should be the 1st thing you do when you run for president. But it helped make people sound racist and crazy over something like that.

What kind of question is that,Why isn't Romney's money in the U.S.?????

Isn't the real question Why doesn't obama prove he was born in the U.S.

As far as Romney showing tax records, that was done last week and I might add after they were heavily scrutinized it was determined he paid more taxes than was required.

The real issue today is it's not about being a Democrat or a Republican or an Independent, what matters most is the next president has to know what he's doing.

I think the topix lingo is clueless, nuts, off topic what we have now.

As for me I would gladly give someone my money that has demonstrated the ability to turn it over 10 fold plus, rather than give it to someone just to spend or worse hand it out all over the globe, then ask to borrow more. Sound Familiar ?!!?
