MMS cheerleaders

the arrogance looks to be passed down from mothers to daughters. it is amazing the lengths people will go to in an attempt to make their daughters believe others care about them because they can recite a cheer. ever notice that the ONLY people that pay attention to them when they cheer at a game is the parents?? everyone else wishes they would be quiet!

I just love how Fran was to busy to even bother with helping them all dang year but now she wants to be boss by making those who wear the wrong thing do crunches and mistreating the girls. I mean she is making 7th graders not perform just because she is mad at them even though they are better than the girls performing. And if they talk to her I was told she tells them oh well.

Please leave these little girls alone..they have done nothing wrong. They are just doing what they love to do and that is cheer. These girls work very hard every year..and give up a lot of things to cheer. They are precious little girls and do not deserve to b talked about like this on topic of all places. They have 3 wonderful coaches this year that devote a lot of time and energy into these girls and their routine for nationals. I wish some of u parents would grow up..

at all practices ? when was this as noone is allowed into practices except cheerleaders and coaches. and they only become an instant b*#@h to those who are jealous. my daughter cheers and has many many friends. if you dont like them thats fine but why down them and act like its nothing to do what they do when you have never been in their shoes?
Did you read my entire post, "cheer"? I was allowed at all practices because I was the school's mascot during FB season and I had to know the music that was to be used and at what times certain cheers were being done because I was considered part of the squad. Therefore, yes, I was "allowed" to be at all practices. Tell me why a school needs more cheerers(25) than members of the sports teams have(basketball is my point)? We only had 12 the years I was mascot and we performed just fine.

Oh I so agree Fran made my child hate cheer she had done it since she like 4 then after one year with Fran she waited until hihgh school to do it again. Oh and the kicker Fran does not want the responsibility of coaching yet comes in and yells at everyone even Europe. Fran even got mad and had Europe take out a child that was working hard and put another in just dont wanna do it. Europe has ruined that team and needs to be replaced. When a child goes to a coach and the coach tells her she is to busy to talk to her or just lies to her face she should be fired. I know of one child Europe stabbed in the back with no remorse what so ever. This child was a champion cheerleader now hates cheer and the coaches.Great job Europe what a way to coach keep on being Frans right hand and doing her dirty work for her....

Well I was informed tonight that Fran who has been to darn busy all year to help except the last month part-time is now gonna have us pay for her to go to Florida. I mean really first we pay for the coaches to stay an extra night, their flights, and room and board, and meals now she has decided that she wants to go. What are we supposed to do this is crazy. A little girl should be able to cheer and not have her parents go into debt because of selfish coaches. How do we stand up and say enough is enough without our child getting punished, and that we no longer are willing to be used like this. Our girls have the right to cheer without being expolited for our money. I agree with another parent I saw say something tonight about our girls were excited then because of the coaches now are in tears again. How do we say NO we dont want her as our coach because even though she is sweet she is not ready to lead our girls. Furthermore are we allowed to see were the money is spent that we pay to them. Our girls and parents deserve better than what they are getting. Fran wants none of the work but some of the praise I guess Orlando has more appeal than lil ole Martin does to coach..

Girls should just focus on the long term goal. They are a great group of girls. I do however agree that the costs have gotten out of hand

How can anyone on here talk about the coaches and complain that their kid isn't getting on the floor when you can't even use proper English in the post? At least talk shit intelligently... And for the parent pissed off your kid isn't cheering why don't you blame the kid for either not giving championship level effort or realize your kid isn't good enough and not pay the money for cheer... The coaches may be young but they have about 6 cheer championships between them so they probably know more than you... Which I know certain parents probably think they should be president of the united states... Let's all use our brain here and call a spade a spade... Your kid is cheering on a competition squad and you knew this from the beginning so if your kid isn't good enough then they aren't gonna be on the floor... And unless you have extensive experience from cheering competively or coaching then keep your mouth shut, be a good parent, and teach your kid the nature of life (i.e. your not always gonna be good enough)

And from what I hear about the whole team in general is they all don't care... Sounds like a parenting issue to me... Teach your kids a work ethic and not a "i am entitled to handouts" attitude then I guarantee you that the results will show... But I guess this is the attitude now adays.

This must be the coaches mom because most of the team are already national champions and they did not lose their talent, they gave up when they saw their coach was not capable of leading them. Furthermore Fran may have 6 but Europe has 0 as coach. And let's not forget the 3 lil girls that aren't performing did perform and got them the award to go to Nationals. And trust me many more than just 1 parent is pissed.

Nope not coaches mom just someone who can see through the parents "my daughter can do no wrong" bull shit... If you are all mad save your 2 grand and stay at home and stop competing... Problem solved or your daughter could always go cheer at dresden?

Well I would just like to say GOOD LUCK to the wonderful group of young ladies and coaches that will be making a trip to nationals in a few days...I just want them to know that there are many people in Martin who are cheering them on. Thanks to the small town gossip, I'm sure these young girls will be on here to read what all these people have said about them and the goal they have worked on for nearly a year.It will be a wonderful thing to have all that "support " hanging over their heads as they go to compete. They will especially appreciate the comments made by the parent(s). What an excellent example you are setting for your daughter(s) and their friends!! You may also know,bc of small town gossip, they will find out who you are, if they don't know already. How embarrassing for you and your child. Can't forget the coaches,as well. I'm sure they appreciate everyone's support in their first year of coaching on their own. But who am I kidding, I'm sure you were an expert at everything you've ever tried so shame on them for not doing every thing exactly right(your way) the first time. By the way, both coaches won national championships and Europe HAS won 2 while coaching. Once again, sending best wishes to the MMS cheer squad as they compete to bring home ANOTHER national title! We will be proud of your efforts no matter the outcome!

i just think it's pitiful that people will bash these youung ladies when they have done nothing wrong. Talking about how they probably aren't good enough and all. That's just sorry if you ask me. Leave these children alone and go bash on someone else if you want. This is just wrong any way you look at it ! Weither they compete or not, they all put in alot of time and hard work from what i see and here. We should be lifting them up not beating them down !!!

I know for a fact that almost three fourths of these post are actually from cheerleaders and other students acting as adults. Not all of them but most of them

All good things must come to an end. It's unreasonable to think the MMS girls could be national champions year after year forever, especially with the cost and dedication required. It's unfair really. Eventually egos take over and it implodes on itself. I think the community could really care less about it anymore either. People in Martin are tired of buying all the stuff they have to sell just to do this year after year. Just so the paper can do a special thing about them year after year. It's old. Let move on to something new. Maybe we can have an award winning champion music program instead. For those that still want to cheer without all the backbiting, I hear Obion County is building a great cheer program.

I hate it when you say national champion, like its one. There are hundreds of competitions, and classifications. They, in the past, have won one of them...but there are a tiny number of teams in the one, that they won!
