And the CATS testing was the worse thing that could have happened to our school systems. The schools are forced to teach ONLY what is listed on the CATS test for that year. Because the school is graded on what the children do on these tests. Our schools are dropping music, PE, culture classes and instead having two math classes, or two science classes. Why? Because music is not on the CATS test, math and science is. Personally, I think the Principals and teachers need to be graded indivdually and qualify for their positions each and every year. Not penalize the children with undue classes and lack of a full education, but penalize the people being paid to educate them. The whole "no child left behind" program was nothing more than a liberal sham to project the ego of "it takes a village to raise a child". It takes strong parents and a full bodied school to educate a child to choose his/her own path in life.

Exactly right! The rankings of a school on the CATS do give students a false indication of their abilities. As I said before, I graduated from Duff Elementary and my teachers expected perfection and nothing less, whether it was on the test or not. High school slacked off somewhat but I had my basics down by then. Throughout college, I observed students being placed in remedial classes who were in supposedly higher- ranking schools. So, later when I returned for a job, I felt qualified. Now I am researching this problem. The next time you run into any college professor, ask what his/her opinion is of the CATS. I doubt it will be favorable. Most of them, especially the English professors, consider it a joke.

I'm in middle school now,and i went to duff. If you want your child to do good in middle school send them to may valley. I was always more advanced so im not have much trouble at all but alot of my peers are that went to duff. May valley's alot funner school too. When it comes to middle school allen central is great acadmic wise. But the teachers arent the best. And the dress codes pretty strict weather thats a bad thing or not.

I believe that the "No Child Left Behind Act" was the brain child of $4 a gallon gas man George W. Bush and the republicans. Do a little research.

Actually, you need to do better math. MVE opened in 1997 when I was five and I am now 20. Just wanted to clarify.

Better get on your kids instead of the teachers and CATS, too many students are there only to cause trouble and act up in class, to darn lazy to do their work and think their grades should be given to them.

i don't know if it's the schools or teachers but the real problem for the most part are the parents. for some reason they think their child is always better than the other kids or they always think that their child is an angel & wouldn't misbehave. kids now adays are just wimps. parents give them everything they want.

So Duff will not make your kids smart? Most of the people in the top 10 each year at the high school went to Duff.
That is because most of the top MVE students go to Piarist.

I thank duff is a dang good school sience they got mrs.goodman out of there she was a joke..I have four children in duff and I thank they should have more homework then they do but my 5 year old boy has learned alot so far he can spell his name and all his basic colors and he also count to 100 and they have helped him on it all and he is in kindergarten...if u want to send your kid anywhere it's duff that's the only reason I still live over this way is cause that school does there best to teach your kids the things they need to know and the teachers are so nice and the other people are to when they got mrs.goodman out of there was the best thing they could have done

Hope did you go to Duff by any chance? What was so bad about Tonya Goodman?
