WHO IS RESPONSIBLE? That is the question! Why is it not being fixed? Clara told me she went to council years and years ago about it.
I don't understand why the problem has been allowed to go on this long. I encourage the people affected by this stormwater problem to contact town hall about it. Otherwise, it is only going to get worse when construction starts, it will be muddy stormwater. Everyone should know where I stand on this by now. Fix our existing problems first, don't just keep adding to them.

No one cared, no one came. Habitat houses approved, all fifteen of them.

One guy cared. He showed up several times, spoke to the Planning Board and to the Council, more than once each place.

To everyone who will be complaining when the construction starts I will say "where were you when you could have done something?"

Everyone knows my position concerning this high density construction in a flood prone area. I am against it and I say "man your lifeboats"!

Habitat for Humanity, huh? Only the mind of a Lunatic Liberal could call this malignant group of mis-led doogoods as honorable and admirable. In reality, it's just another tumor of the metasticized cancer of Liberalism.
I once had a fellow church member try to get me on into holding a hammer for that cause. I declined. I had my own business to tend. Just seemed like the best way to operate. Besides, I didn't have a wife who drew a government employee's paycheck. I didn't have a guaranteed income like that to fall back on if I wasted too much time having a good ole 'time building crackerboxes for illegals, and kidding myself I was "doing good" by donating my time to such a "worthy cause". The most worthy cause to me is, and was, tending my business by taking care of a customer, not running off to "do good". SCREW Habitat for Humanity. One of the biggest tax angles there ever was.
Tell you what. There's Habitat for Humanity. How 'bout another organization: Bulldozers for Decency.

Just tell it like it is, I like it. Soon the "do-gooders" will be left without Obama to keep the handouts coming, and we should start to recover. Mid-term elections should prove that the democractic party has lost all hope and will agree that they can not run a country trying to elevate the poor, especially when the recipients of the handouts dont want to pull their fair share and are only forming longer lines for more handouts.
The quick road to recovery is to force the banks to make loans for new construction, but to honest hardworking people, maybe some a bit down on their luck, yet the ones that still get up and go to work. Make the payments affordable for the ones that have a good attendance record for work. Stop giving to the lazy, pant hanging, blunt smoking, baby having, internet casino attendees. Government needs to step in and grow itself, set the example for the private sector, pay the employees fairly for a honest days work. If we see government cutting jobs, cutting salaries and benefits, then what does that say to main street america, that we are in trouble, and not a good sign. I say GROW america, give raises, start promoting building again, and people will come around to work, but the banks will have to supply some funds to get this jump started though. This recession is in the greedy hands of the banks. Its their turn to let loose.

Oh I think there is good in the ideals of Habitat for Humanity but I also think the houses they build have caused the decline of some really good neighborhoods. Think about this. If you build a habitat house in a typical middle class neighborhood it is going to stick out like a sore thumb. I have seen it happen several times and the result a few years later is declining property values. I have yet to see a habitat house that didn't wind up being the worst kept up house in the neighborhood. They are usually so obvious that no one wants to live within sight of one. I personally know of a family that gladly welcomed a habitat house being built across the street from them 10 years ago. Both the husband and son helped build the house and welcomed the people that moved in. Within 3 years the original habitat family moved and was replaced by a family of hoodlums that terrorized the neighborhood. Now the family that welcomed the Habitat house can't sell their house because potiential buyers see the trash littered Habitat house and the kids roaming around at all hours making noise.

I don't really have much against habitat houses, but i agree that owners should be required to keep them up to neighborhood standards. If upkeep cannot be afforded, then the family has no business owning a home in the first place.

Habitat for Humanity is a noble cause. I believe in it and have contributed to it both in money and labor. Part of the guidelines for home ownership required of new home owners is the promise to take care of their property, keep it clean and visibly attractive. If they aren't doing that then call Habitat and tell them. They will send someone out to remind the homeowner of their responsibility.

Good thing I know you're just some Lib whackjob hi-jacking Harold Johnson's name (for Congress) as your screen name, by design to mislead. You Libs will stoop to any deceit and trickery to win. Noble cause, hell.
But on to my original point for writing. These days "obama" is getting so much of the limelight as the problem, that the real problem is growing like a fungus on steroids. Distracting attention from another malignancy even worse--Bev Perdue and her merry band of Liberals right here in the Peoples' Communist Republic of North Carolina. That band of corrupt Democrats has held on to their power for 120 years. And SHE is worse than Jim Black taking bribes in the stall of the men's room. I have 2860 type characters left to try to describe what pieces of slime these Dim-o-crat taxers and heretics are. Not nearly enough to even scratch the surface. They make dirty Chicago Politics look like kindergarten.
Even tough this is a thread on Habitat for Humanity, which is really just another ruse for forced integration, I digress. It's just another angle by the Left to divide the country into "the good people", and "all else", with the "all else", of course, being racists, nazis, kkk, bigots, sexists, blah blah, and "the good people" being Liberals, of course.
Habitat for Humanity is a blatant attempt at aiding and abetting illegal immigration. And/or forcing the Liberal agenda of forced integration.
And back to Bev Perdue and THAT bunch--Benito Mussolini was hung upside down for less than these slimebag Liberals have been up to, under full protection by their willing accomplices in the Lib media.
I can't wait till November, when we flush the toilet. Of course there's so much Democrat Diarrhea in it, it's going to take a couple more elections to completely flush it all down.

A lot of you whine and complain about how bad Marshville is and all the poor people that are moving into your town, but I have yet to hear but a few that actually do something about it.
You stick all the blame on the Democrats. What was the deficit (or surplus) when Bush took office?
And what was the deficit when he left?
Bottom line what are you doing to make a better town? Moaning and complaining do not count.
I recently moved to Marshville and if I had read this blog before I did I would have bought my house else where, I was under the mistaken impression that Marshville was a nice friendly town, with values and small town compassion. A town were people help each other instead of tearing everyone who does not agree with them apart. I sincerely hope that I am very wrong in my first impression of this town.

Your mistake was bringing your Liberal Template with you when you moved down here from the frozen rustbelt. You can pull that Lib Template story on the Charlotte Observer and get it printed, but don't pull it on me. You Libs are like parrots. I'll swear to God above, you all spout the EXACT SAME talking points. You don't realize it, but you WREAK of your indoctrination.

My, your very angry and judgmental,I don't think that all Republicans think exactly the same way and I actually listen to their options with an open mind. Often people with different opinions than mine have valid points. I would hate to think they are as closed minded and mean spirited as you. I can see with you representing Marshville why it's going down hill.

Yeah, yeah, Lib--"close minded, mean spirited", blah blah.
And you're the Lib--"open minded, compassionate", bleh, bleh, bleh.
I've heard that EXACT SAME bilgewater out of you Libs for 40 years. You haven't changed the tape in your Lib tape recorder in all that time.
Well, I tell you what-- a steamroller is fixing to flatten your unbearable, insipid, and oh-so-smug kind in about 2 months. Good riddance to bad rubbish, 40 years too late.
One other thing: Shutup Lib--you're an idiot.

Well, I jumped in this mudpuddle, but good--huh, folks? So I'm going to close the thread--end of discussion. You Habitat for Humanity doogooders are a blight to any neighborhood. "Oh, you're doing sooo gooood." How sweet. Goodie twoshoes.
Truth is, you-re just another tumor in the metastasis of Liberalism. Finding another back-door method of pushing your insipid feelgood agenda of "helping the poooor". And "the poooor" as defined by YOUR ILK. In actuality it's just more of your forced integration, and more of your forced amnesty. You know full well who and what you are trying to put into those eyesore crackerboxes, and WHY.
It's because everybody is a "racist", but you, because you're a good little Liberal, and these "rich Whites" in these neighborhoods are all mean people who rape the Earth, and take advantage of all the world's poor urchins. You have ZERO TOLERANCE for a neighborhood built by people who have EARNED THE RIGHT to live and work with whom they chose, where they choose. And YOU are going to
make points with Jesus, for "helping the poor". And for you Secular Liberals (atheists), your agenda is identical. Both a cancer.
I'm from Charlotte originally. I've seen Liberals turn the whole city into a third world squalor with their agendas, all my life.
Tell you what, Habitat for Humanity suckers: Why don't you start a LEGITIMATE construction company, and try doing the same thing, under the laws and conditions that entrepreneurs and venture capitalists have to work. Maybe you can even do what they do down Charlotte, install a filthy Democrat political machine to legislate your dastardly agenda for you, along with their Liberal Media Mouthpiece: The Charlotte Observer.
And Marshville can then join the White Flight that brought me here to live.
I'm out of the argument here-on-in. Drag me into it, and I'm liable rent a bullzozer and end the problem (and end up in the klink).
Keep your grubby doogood paws off Marshville. In fact, pack up your store and your little recycle bin and ride out of Dodge. Union County doesn't want you.

Sorry Otis--I have a policy: Don't drink and type. As I recall, that's what killed Hemingway, and knowing that, I've never read any of his stuff nor wanted to. I hear it's really big though, with the tenured Libs at the big universities. Me?--I'm just a small businessman. I mind my business and take care of THE CUSTOMER. I don't feed at any trough, and don't appreciate being forced to fill it.

You are also supposed to be from this country in order to be elected president of this country. You are not supposed to be able to hold public office if you are a convicted felon either.

Calling will not make any difference. It's nothing more than a tax write off for those that donate the stuff to build these houses.
