2 weeks ago on a Monday morning I was at the Goodwill store in Monroe donating some stuff. Then I went inside to look around and Frank Deese was in there looking through the mens suits. He didn't see me or he would have been embarased. That is why he was there on Monday morning when ain't nobody there. He found a coat that fit and then found some pants and took it to the fitting room. I acted like I was looking at kids clothes and stayed out of sight. After a while Frank came out in the suit and strutted back and forth in front of the mirror. Then he went back and took the suit to the regiuster. The lady charged him $3.00. This past Sunday Frank was wearing the Goodwill suit at Church. I went up and told him it was a nice suit and axe where he bought it. He said Joseph A. Banks at South Park. I could hardly keep from laughing.

My ex-wife had a yard sale and she found some old suits of mine from when I ran for Sheriff so she hung them in a tree. She said Frank drove up in that big black Cadillac, got out and started looking at those suits. Now folks, I ran for Sheriff 20 years ago so you know those suits were out of style. Frank bought 2 of them for $5. I also had a funny looking derby style hat that I wore when I had an auction company. My ex-wife said Frank tried it on, looked in a mirror and laughed. She said he didn't buy it but a kid on a skateboard bought it for 50 cent.

Ok...I shop at Goodwill for my kids; I don't see the point in spending all that money when they have out grown the clothes in 6 months. I also donate clothing. To me Frank is just using good sense~I'm not sure why he would lie, but its his lie so he can tell it to whoever he wants to. Hopefully he will be as cost conscience when it comes to the Town's budget!

I bought a nice Sunday Go to Meeting suit at Wal-Mart. The coat cost $40 dolars and the pants $20 dolars. I was the best dressed man at Cornerstone Church because most folk just wear work or street cloths. Some come in old dirty cloths and be stanking. I am going to go to Goodwill and check out the men suits because I am going on a job interview soon.

Now that's not very Christ like to ask where he bought the suit or use slang (axe) I guess only at church. I'm all for humor on this site, but at least be funny.

I think the mayor always looks like the businessman that he is. Couldnt care less if the suits come from Good Will or a yard sale, he wears them well. Why not mention MB's purple hair, well in the sunlight it does look a bit like a couple shades of reddish mixed with blue. And GK with her "Elvira" look, more bags under those eyes than the Food Lion express lane. and the makeup she wears, please! Now MJ looks awesome, sort of John Gotti like. Stylin and profilin.

The mayor should buy his clothes in his own town. It sets a bad example if he goes elsewhere to shop. Surely he doesn't want to be an example to the citizens by avoiding doing business in Marshville. As long as the goods and services are available here we should support the businesses here. We have clothes here in town. Shop Marshville and encourage everyone to support our towns commerce.

I tried really hard on not commenting on this subject, but You people make me laugh with this one. First of all I am glad the Mayor went and bought a new suit. It means he cares about what he looks like and wants to look professional and nice. At least he is not buying clothes to big for him and walking around town in torn up clothing. Good job on keeping your appearance up Mayor. Who cares where he got it from. If he did get it at Goodwill then that means he is careful with money. Something we should all be doing right now. W Huggins should you really be telling people on here that the Mayor lied about where he go it from.( I don't know if he did or not, just according to you he did.) Honestly that does not say much for us Christians. People already get on here and ask why as Christians we would say anything negative on here. I think they forget we are humans just like them. O.K. about the buy your clothes from Marshville statement. We should support our town, but when it comes to clothes there are not many choices to choose from. We are a small town and if you are on a budget you go where the clothes are worth the money. I am all about a good deal and if someone can get a good suit for $3.00 then I would say that was the best bargain if I ever saw. By the way I am sure everyone has lied on here sometime or another. Right?

So instead of shopping at Goodwilkk he should shop at the thrift store? Marshville sells clothes? Where; other than the thrift store?

I have to agree with you MRSWG3, where in Marshville besides the thrift store. This just proves some of the folks that comment on here probably have never even been to Marshville, let alone they claim to live here. BULLSH!T. Good job, MRSWG3. We have more barbers and stylist than any other business in town. And the Mayor does get his hair trimmed here. Some folks dont have a clue, only want to keep things stirred up. Real Christianlike people here.

Not that you could buy a suit from these places, but Dollar General, Family Dollar, and the thrift store sales clothes. I personally don't buy my clothes there because they just don't last long for me and not much of a selection either. It is not worth it when I could go somewhere else and get better clothes for the same amount of money.

There are no quality stores in Marshville like there used to be. Hill's Clothing for Men. Roy Pope and Gaddy Helms' shoe shops, Ansley's Clothing, Lois and Emma's Style Shoppe, Audrey's Dress Shop. There was a fine jewelry store on the corner of North Elm and Main at one time. Of course, our beloved B.C. Moore's store was always a place one could go to get something, in a hurry, that was nice and reasonably priced. Quality, name brand clothing. Those were the days my friend!

Coco Chanel is right on target. There are no Chanel suits to be purchased in Marshvegas, have to hit Montaldo's in South Park for those.

Oooops! I may be wrong, there may be a few in one of our many thrift shops here!

Well I must go have my chicken parmesan that goes with my good old zin tonight. Ta ta peeps!
