Any other experiences with grand opening? First I stopped shopping at Summer Fresh long ago when when they had that little short sawed off prick for a manager,(Woody or something like that was his name I think). The deli food got so bad it was not edible and dried out.

NOW that Ramey's old store is gone, I guess I have no choice when Walmart doesn't have what I want, so I decided to give the new store a try after being told it would be the same as the old store in customer service, products etc. First stop was the deli, I got a cashew chicken dinner for $5.49 in the 3 way divided to go box. The bigger portion of the box was covered with 1/2 inch of rice, and a dozen or so very small pieces of chicken threw on top with the sauce, cashews and onions, Got 2 crab ragoons on the smaller divided areas. Now mind you the box wasn't even half full, it looked like a childs meal!! Tasted great, but darn I can go to HyVee in Springfield and get a box running over for $5.29 of the exact same thing or at a restaurant here in town for close to the same price, but A LOT more food.

2 people also working the deli, being rude to people. A woman stepped up while I was waiting and ask to pick up an order for a big dinner she had pre ordered. The first girl working, yelled and ask the other one of she knew anything about it. The second girl reply was yelled back, "it's in the oven". The first girl waiting on this lady just walked off and never said another word to her. The lady waiting on the order, then in a louder voice to she could be heard as girl was walking off, ask "how much longer will it be"? The girl waiting on her, said something back to her very low in voice I could not understand and neither could the woman waiting. The woman waiting looked at her watch, and said "it was to be ready to be picked up 10 minutes ago". The girls in the deli never said another word to her. No idea what happened after this, the lady waiting walked off and the deli girls were gone, 1 to the back of the kitchen and the other one came over to help me when I ordered my chicken as stated above. They just acted like a customer, it was a bother to wait on us.

I searched for a few items I normally got at Ramey's,(they were the only store in town to carry them), none were found. Sue Bee Spun Honey, a brand of eggdrop soup mix I liked not there, can't remember the 3rd thing I looked for I needed then. I realize this is a new experience for the old Summer Fresh store, but I sure hope it changes more to Ramey's than it is now, as I hate driving to Springfield all the time for stuff that I should be able to get here, and the terrible customer service.

I absolutely hated going into the old store...in numerous occasions there was meat sitting that had gone bad but was still on the shelf to sell...the most unfriendly people imaginable were employed there...high prices...oh sure they've "lowered" them now but they are still high...i'm all for getting a full time mom and pop shop back in this town and show the big chains they're not the only ones in town....its a monopoly and its not just walmart who's playing that game....
